�God why do you have to go� Kasey said as he held me close to him. �Because I have to work tomorrow and you are going back to Carolina� I answered, fighting back the tears.
Kasey and I had spent a wonderful weekend together. Saturday night we hung around the coach and watched movies while Kasey made me dinner. Sunday I spent on top of his pit box, cheering and screaming as he took the checkered flag.
And now, it was time to go back home. I hated leaving him, it was amazing having him around. I was getting all of my old feelings back for him, which I was hoping wasn�t going to blow up in my face.
I kissed Kasey one last time before I boarded my plane. �Call me when you get home� he said, cupping the side of my face with his hands. He placed one more soft kiss on my forehead, I turned and headed towards the skyway to give the stewardess my ticket. I glanced over my shoulder, looking at Kasey one more time before I boarded. He gave me a crooked smile and waved.
Kasey�s POV
I drove back to the track, I still had a few more interviews to do before my flight home. My cell phone rang as I was turning on to the interstate �Hey� I said, noticing it was my mom from the caller ID. �Well Well Well, why didn�t you tell me that you were seeing Shay again?� she asked, without a hi or hello first. �Hi Mom� I said, trying to see if she would get annoyed that I didn�t answer her question. �Answer the question� she said, jokingly trying to be stern. �Because it just happened� he answered, smiling at the memory of how good his mom and Shay used to get along.
�Well, even if it happened this morning I would have liked to hear about it before I see her with you on TV� she said to me. I knew she was right. Shay and my mom had always been close, even after she and I broke up. My mom would e-mail her and call once a month or so just to check in. �Well is she still there?� I chuckled, �No mom I just dropped her off at the airport� I answered, turning into the track. �Look I have to go, I am back at the track and I have some interviews. I will call you tomorrow!� I said quickly before I hung up.

Shay�s POV
�Ugh I don�t wanna be here� I said to myself as I got into my truck. I picked up my cell phone and turned it on, waiting as it strained to get service. I dialed Kasey�s number and left a quick message when I got his voice mail. I told him I was home and to call me whenever he could. I flipped my phone closed and continued the drive home.
Whithin minutes my cell phone was ringing again. I didn�t recognize the number but since it was a 704 area code there was only one person it could be. �I miss you� I answered, there was silence for a moment before a woman�s voice spoke �Well I miss you too�. It took me a second to process the voice. �Goodness Mrs. Tammy� I said, excitedly. �Im sorry I thought you were� I stopped myself before I realized who I was talking to. �Kasey� Tammy said, finishing my sentance. �Yeah� I answered, my face turning a bright shade of red. �How are you Mrs. Tammy?� I asked, wondering how she got my cell phone number.
We talked for about an hour. �Well, I understand why you are scared. But honestly, if you want my opinion, you need to just go with it. Kasey needs someone in his life he can trust, not like that gold-digger Sarah� Tammy said, trying to convince me that being with Kasey was for the best. �I know, and I absoloutly love being around Kasey, he is wonderful. I guess im just scared of� I stopped when my phone beeped. �Hey Tammy, Kasey is on the other line can I call you tomorrow?� I asked quickly, trying to click over to Kasey before he hung up. �Yeah no problem sweetie, and remember, Just go with it� she said before hanging up.
I clicked over �Hey you� I said into the phone. I heard Kasey chuckle �I guess you made it home alive� I continued. �Yeah we did� Kasey said, pausing before he continued �My mom called, drilling me about why I hadn�t told her about you being back. I gave her your number, hope you don�t mind� Kasey said quickly. �No problem, I was on the phone with her when you beeped in� I said. �I see, what did ya�ll chat about?� he asked curiously. �You� was all I said, I knew it would kill him if I kept his mom and my conversation private.
After talking to Kasey for a little while I decided that I needed to go to bed. I had a long weekend and I needed to be fresh for court tomorrow. �Well, im off. I will call you sometime tomorrow� I said. Kasey sighed �Ok� he said, sounding a little upset. �Talk to you tomorrow� I said before hanging up. I took a quick shower and put on my pajamas, curling up in bed. I flipped on the TV to watch NASCAR victory lane, quickly falling asleep after Kasey's interview.
