GARY'S SAVEMART/KRAGEN 350 SCRAPBOOK '99

These are pictures from Friday's qualifying day. Some people think road races are boring. But if you're there in person, it's a great change of pace. First, it's a lot easier to see a car going 40-50mph at parts on a road course, than to see one blaze by at 170+ on the Superspeedways. You're free to walk around the entire track to get many different views, many of which get you a lot closer to the cars than at most circle tracks. You can also get excellent pictures of the LEFT SIDES of the cars on the track (if you're in the grandstands on a circle track, all you get to see clearly is the right sides). Finally, listening to the drivers/cars downshift & upshift is a far different sound from having them run flat out all of the time (which isn't really that bad). On the down side, most of the time, you can't see the entire track. On well, enough of that, on with the pictures...(P.S.: I don't have pit/garage access. I'm just your average fan that knows no sponsors or any of the big wigs in NASCAR, so these pictures are from the vantage points that any fan can get to)
