Meeting the Drivers!

Most of these pictures were taken by myself. I'm usually on the right side of the picture, because I had to hold the camera with my left hand because of the position of the shutter release button. For the Napa Auto Parts race at the California Speedway in April 2000, I used a point and shoot, non-zoom Olympus Stylus 35mm camera. It's auto-focus was great and focus was excellent at arm's length. All the drivers were amused by my technique. Since I had no one with me to take my picture with the drivers, I had to do it myself.Most drivers stopped and posed for me, while others I had to snap the picture as I was walking with them. I had no idea I would get to meet so many of these drivers. I did not have a garage pass, but waited just outside the garage area gates.
