Sailor Moon

Originally created by Naoko Takeuchi, this manga is a genuine jewel among comics. Combined with fantastic imagination and beautiful art, it has risen above all other comics as the revolution of shojo manga sold in America.

These stories are a great way to get into the world of manga and anime. It tells classic and traditional tales of love and friendship, and the fight between good and evil. It is a quite interesting and unique idea: all the main characters are heroes in 'serafuku', sailor-style clothing, each representing a different planet. The they all have their own elements and strengths, and fight to save the Earth from outside (and inside) invaders.

Though many have scorned this girlish series, it a story of encouragement and inspiration, and has found its way into the hearts of young girls everywhere. I must admit that it is my favorite and i would never be here today, discussing manga, if Sailor Moon hadn't introduced me to it.
