Fear Factor

Hebrews 13:5-6

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said I will never leave thee, nor for sake thee. So that we may boldly say the Lord is my helper, and will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Every man or woman of God had to face their Fears before God could use them. Fear is the opposite of faith.

Abraham feared that a servant would end up as his heir and God made him a mighty nation. Genesis

Moses feared that when he spoke to the people he would fail and God used him to deliver his people from the bondage in Egypt. Exodus

King David feared that King Saul would take his life and he ran. In the end King David became a Great King. Kings

Queen Esther feared what the King would do if she entered his presence with out being invited and because she overcame her fear she delivered her people from destruction. Esther

The Apostle Peter feared the people and denied Christ 3 times and still was used to preach the first sermon after Jesus assention to heaven. Matthew and Acts

The Apostle Paul feared the same persecution that he had given, and after his conversion he was used to write 11 of the New Testament books. The New Testament.

Each of these Men and Women overcame their fears to be used mightily of God.

How did they do it?

First was through Prayer they learned that with prayer and letting God handle the situation.

Phillipians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the Peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Second is through trusting on Him they had to Learn to apply Proverbs 3:5-6 which says Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding: in all your ways and he will make your paths straight.

They had no choice but to trust once they stepped out in faith but getting to that point was where they had to learn trust.

Third is stepping out on Faith. We must sometimes leave our comfort zones and walk on Water if we want to see our fear overcome. Having faith in Christ, your fear is on the way to being overcome.

Finally is through the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear but ye have received the Spirit of Adoption where by we cry Abba Father. The Holy Spirit can overcome any Fear if we let him, but you must let him.

Friend, no matter your fear you can overcome it With Prayer, by trusting in Him, by waiting on him and finally by letting the Holy Spirit work on you.
