We started off strong (as we usually do!) Leona and Tash were upfront and provided a lot of pressure on Seaforth�s defence. Katrina was playing the newly named �5th midfield position� (aka centre-back) and booted the ball up the field. Something didn�t quite gel in the middle of the park and Seaforth took advantage of this. Peter reckoned it was a fluke but we all thought it was a lovely chip from Seaforth that went over Elaine (in goals) head. Elaine had no hope of getting anywhere near that one�
I actually can�t remember how the second goal was scored but no doubt it was a pure fluke and luck just wasn�t on our side!!
Second half and Tash took the ball out wide and took a long range shot. Of course it was pure skill that allowed the ball to fly over all the defenders and land in the back of the net.
At 2-1 the Beanies lifted their heads and moral was up again � we can do this!!
A wrong call by the referee regarding a throw in got one of the Seaforth girls fired up � it was injustice! She tackled one of our players and solely did a fantastic run up the field with the ball at her feet � nearing the box she slammed the ball hard into the back of the net..
Bummer.
3-1 to Seaforth.
But a good fight and some wicked soccer by the Beanies! We can definitely beat this team � bring on the next round!!
