But we played Manly Vale B who beat Seaforth 21-0 so maybe it wasn't that bad afterall?!?!
We had a bit of a shocker to begin with - Bea disappeared and no one knew where she went to (car gone), Lee arrived and her car had broken down in the middle of the road so Elaine had to go with her to get petrol and take her back to the car etc. so we were a bit all over the place.
Cally & Sharna (our two sweepers!) were both out with back injuries, Kate was in Brisbane visiting her new man, Tina was sick but came anyway but didn't want to play...
So we started with

Kick off and Lee takes the ball. They take the ball off her and in 2 secs, kick it down the line and score. What the?!?! That was only about 30secs into the game.. it was going to be a long game!
2 mins later (or so) and they score again. And again...
Marday is upset about being sweeper having never played there before and having no instruction. So we swap the line up - Tash as sweeper, Bea as centre and Marday went on to the right wing and we start again.
It was 3-0 at half time - we started to play much better but they were really all over us, we just defended and had a few breaks but not many. Bea got a boot to the jaw and went down - then Chris carried her off and took her to the medical centre (she is OK), so Tina had to come on. The Tina got a ball into her already sore tummy and went "I'm off" so we were down to 10. Anne went off as well as her ankle gave way but bravely came back on again. So we were mainly down to 10 players in the 2nd half
2nd half and it was much the same as the 1st. Then they got another 2 goals - really nice goals from outside the 18yard box, they were very clever in how they played, drew our defenders into the box with a decoy striker, which gave them 2 secs to line up the shot by midfield and sailed it over Elaine's head. She had no chance at all. They were very good and talented players. So well what can you do? We were going down like flies and didn't have a full team - Crystal was playing centre midfield which was a first.
We actually really enjoyed the game despite losing - we enjoyed it more than last week when we won! (Figure that one!) Maybe there was less pressure as we were already 3-0 down at half time and was unlikely to manage a comeback against them with 9-10 players and missing 4 of our stronger players. So we just had a laugh. Zoe, Elaine & Tash were having a good laugh - particularly at Tash's goal kicks.
We were never going to win that game - it was obvious after 5mins but we just had to minimise the damage!! Which we did OK in the end I think!! 5-0 is the same as a forfeit.
