Dee Why A was playing BTH and Dee Why B were short of players so they used some from DYA - I didn't think that they were allowed to do that but anyway... Line up was

They started strong - we were trying to keep the ball on the ground because of the wind but this limited our clearance from the backline and they were getting the ball back too quickly. Elaine makes some easy but nice saves. They are attacking but not posing a real threat. Not long in and Peter took Carrie off and put Kathy up front and Kate on the right wing. We played some nice soccer (if I say so - Peter may say otherwise) with lots of 1-2s and talk. A through ball and Lee runs onto it, beating their backline and kicks it past the keeper! yay! 1-0 to us. Kate has a bit of a tussle with one of the girls.. DYB are quite a fiery team.
Half time and Peter has a hissy fit at us all and tells us all off for being timid and not clearing the ball etc etc. blah blah blah. I thought we were playing quite well actually!
2nd half and we are the stronger team by a mile. Kate does a fantastic run up the right wing, around players and has a shot. We hold our breath as it looks like it is going into the far corner but not sure, Lee runs in and just taps it in to make sure it finds the back of the net. Hurrah 2-0 to us. Peter now puts Marday in the backline so we have 4 defenders and Zoe as stopper. Tash shifts over to centre - left midfield so we have some holes in midfield as we play very defensive. But it means they push forward and we have lots of space in the middle - all we needed was a clearance from Zoe. Kathy had a great game as striker with lots of interaction with midfield. She had the ball, ran around 3 defenders, at the last defender knocks it to the left, Tash ran onto it and slammed it in the back! Yeah 3-0!
DYB are getting really fired up - a yellow and red card is distributed for swearing at the referee and the game continues....
Thankfully the whistle goes and its the end.
And we won 3-0! Thank goodness for that!
