And the game starts - despite having a strong line up we are struggling from kick off. No one seems to know where they are playing - they take advantage of it and do some lovely play - a girl runs down the left wing (where is Tina?!?) she passes it to the centre where a girl is completely unmarked. She shoots she scores.

We all hang our heads. Everyone is yelling at eachother - all we here is "YOU HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME BEANIES" and "If you lose this game you will lose the comp Beanies" Talk about pressure. The game is a comedy of errors for the Beanies - Kate and Tash almost head butt each other. Debbie & Leanne go for the same ball and still both miss. Hayley's shots are everywhere but near the goal, Kate takes the corners and they fail to get near the box. But alas it wasn't funny as time was ticking and everyone was stressing. Finally Hayley works some of her magic and takes a long range shot and slams it in the back of the net 1-1
We assume that this is the beginning of the Beanie magic but it ain't so. Half time whistle and we get a huge lecture from Peter as expected. If we draw this game and St Aug win we will come 2nd on goal difference. No one is enjoying this game except for Pittwater A who are having a super time and loving it. No pressure on them and they were in their element.
Back on the field and it wasn't gelling still. Colleen had a few fantastic opportunities - where she ran down the pitch after a long ball to her. She had a clear shot but tried to put the ball on her right foot and a defender got it back. Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! We simply do everything wrong - pass it straight to the opposition, panic and hit it instead of controlling and play the ball in the air instead of bringing it to the ground. Peter is starting to panic and scream at us from the side line.
Tina is chasing a ball on the left, she does a Van Basten turn and falls to the ground squealing - we think she is laughing & squealing but alas no. She has twisted her knee and is in panic - the 2 nurses Mel & Caren help her but she is off. Our heart sinks more..... 15 mins to go.
The Beanies have the ball at the goal quite a bit but simply can't get it in - its dusty and their defence is like a wall. A ball shoots through into the goal mouth - it hits Sharna, rebounds off her onto a defender, hits the defenders knee and pops into the back of the net. 2-1 to us. PHEW! A crap goal (ie not our own) but we will take that as we are desperate. It seems to lift our game a bit but we still can't get anything in... Hayley does a corner and I run in for the header - too high but Collen is there and it lands at her head she taps it and its in!! GOAaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll!!!! 3-1 to us!!
Peter wants to bring Kathy onto the field and he asks Colleen to go in goals. I'll go - Tash offers. No no I will says Kate. No says Hayley I will. He is flooded with offers - we are all desperate to go off the field!! But alas Colleen goes in goals and Kathy is up front. Pittwater A see a unskilled goalie and try to take advantage - they have a fantastic shot at goal. Colleen leaps like there is no tommorrow and the ball just passes the goal. PHEW!!
We finally get a bit of control - Tess passes it to Tash down the left wing, they do a bit of 1-2 and then.. the whistle blows. Full Time!
WE WON!!!
We are the Champions!! Beanies are the Champions of Ladies Div 4!!!! Hurrah hurrah hurrah! WE WON THE COMP!! YAY! A very scrappy game so no one really is in a celebratory mood but we should feel proud of ourselves - 13 wins, 1 draw and only 1 loss!! Although we had a bad last game we had many cracking wins.
And the news of the morning is that St Augustine drew 0-0 with Manly Vale! So even if we had drawn or lost against Pittwater A we would have still won!! Eeeek!! And the exciting news is that Strikers won their first game yesterday against Pittwater B - everyone has to win at least one game a season! We are top of the table and loving it!
