'Twas Twelve Days Before Christmas

and

This is from 2003 but we still need to be reminded our men and women are still over there in search for the roots of terrorism.

Twas twelve days before Christmas and through the Mideast,
The people went wild--we had captured the beast.

I, on the couch; the man in his chair
Scanned all the news channels to see how and where.

Then what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But footage in real time-we couldn't help but cheer.

A hole in the ground-and a rat in the hole.
You could see in an instant, hiding's taken it's toll.

The face on the screen looked old and forlorn.
He knows what is coming; the shame and the scorn.

He spoke not a word-he's said volumes before.
His regime is now quiet and will be evermore.

The soldiers with flags of red, white and blue,
Should feel so much pride for carrying through.

We said we would get him -just a matter of time,
And now that it's happened, it really feels fine.

Prayers have been answered and freedom's in sight,
The Ace of Spades captured in dawn's early light.

The mission's not over, there's much to be done.
But Iraqi's may prosper with this victory won.

It still won't be easy-war is ugly and cruel.
But the days look some brighter as we approach Yule.

The Commander-in-Chief came on later to say
Just how proud he is of our great U.S.A.

And I heard him exclaim as he folded his text,
Merry Christmas to all-and Osama-you're next!
