Master Seasoning Mixes For Rice
Below are recipes for making seasoning mixes for rice. Each recipe makes enough to do 1 meal. If your family finds one of these a favorite you can multiply the recipe and keep in snack size baggies stored in a jar with a tight fitting lid. To use add one recipe of the seasoning mix to the water and bring to a boil, add rice and cook as directed. Try brown rice for added fiber.
Curry Mix
1 Tablespoon instant onion
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 chicken bouillion cube (crushed)
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon tuneric
Mix together. Makes one application
Beef Mix
1 beef bouillion cube (crushed)
1 Tablespoon instant minced onion
1 Tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon sugar
Mix together. Makes one application
Chicken Mix
1 chicken bouillion cube (crushed)
1 Tablespoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon celery flakes
1 teaspoon instant minced onion
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
dash of pepper
Mix well. Makes one application
Spanish Rice Mix
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
2 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon tumeric
When using this seasoning recipe, replace 1 cup of the water used in cooking the rice with stewed tomatoes. Above receipe makes one application.
