Biscuits
3 Cups All Purpose Master Mix
1/2 Cup Water
Add water all at once to the Master Mix. Blend lightly with a fork to form a soft dough and turn out onto a floured board. Knead the dough slightly and then roll or pat the dopugh to not less the 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 450* for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 10 large or 15 medium biscuits.
These are also good when used for shortcake.
Biscuit Variations
Drop Biscuits - Use a little more liquid. Drop by spoonfull onto a greased pan. Bake 450* 10 to 12 minutes.
Cinnamon Roll - Roll biscuit mix to 1/4 inch thickness. Spread with margarine, brown sugar, cinnamon and raisins. Roll up like a jelly roll. Cut into sections and bake on a greased pan.
Bake at 450* for 10 minutes.
Meat Rollups - Leftover meat, tuna fish, or chopped meat can be spread on the dough. This can be rolled up like a jelly roll and sliced into sections and baked on a greased pan. They can be served plain or with acheese sauce.
Bake at 450* for 12 minutes
Cheese Biscuits - Add 1/3 to 1/2 Cup Cheese (shredded or grated) American or Cheddar to 3 Cups of All Purpose Mix.
ShortcakePrepare rectangle of biscuit dough. Grease lightly with butter. When removed from the oven and while still warm split the cake by cutting it through the middle. Butter the cut surface and serve at once with sweetened fruits.
If individual shortcakes are desired, cut the rounds. Place half on a greased baking sheet. Butter tops slightly. Place the other rounds on top. Butter tops. Bake as for biscuits.
Fruit Kuchen - Spread the dough in a greased pan. Have dough come up on the sides. Arrange peeled, sliced peaches, pitted plum halves, pitted cherries or apple slices to fill the pie dish.
Sprinkle with 1/3 teaspoon salt, 1/4 Cup Sugar (some fruits may need more), and 1 Tablespoon butter.
Bake at 400* for 20 minutes.
Apples may be sprinkled with a sugar cinnamon mixture plus the butter and the salt.
American Pizza - Roll out dough into a 15 inch circle, 1/4 inch thick. Place on a baking sheet. Spread dough with sauce mixture:
8 oz. tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 Tablespoons minced onion
Sprinkle with grated or shredded cheese
Bake at 425* for 20 minutes or till edges are browned
