It was Wednesday the 18th. I woke with a cold and wasn't very happy about it. It took a while to get out of bed but I did. Neil and I went to the movies at around lunch time. We went to see the two towers. It wasn't to bad, even I have to say that! The difference here with tickets is you have to book your seats. Like the theater. While waiting to go in we get a call for Brooke. "What are you doing tonight?" I say nothing "ok then I will met you in the city somewhere. Where can you get to?" So we are meeting at Oxford st station at around seven.

  We get to the station at about ten past seven. Give Brooke a call and work out how to get to the bar. It is called all-bar-one. We walked in and the place was packed. How were we going to find Brooke in here? Well we walked in the bar and there she was with her bum in the air. Tempted to kick it but she stood up. We met Steve at this point. Brookes squeeze. Really nice guy. So we got drinking. We didn't get up to too much. Just some drinking and a lot of talking. Talking about the good old things at home! We were telling Steve about some of the Australian wildlife. First it was the drop bears. Telling him to never walk alone in a park of a night. If you do then you might have a drop bear drop on your head!! Next was the magpies. He was saying that Brooke had told him we wore ice cream containers on our head to keep them at bay. Steve wasn't falling for this one. Thought it wasn't true. We tried to tell him every Aussie would know about it. That you even drew eyes on them. If they thought you were looking at them then they wouldn't attack. He was going to go on the gum tree in the morning to ask aussie's. Its a web site they have over here for Aussies. Then we were on to the liar bird. Neil was telling him all about that one. But I don't know how much he believed us. Don't know why. But when you think about it we do have some good wildlife. Someone. Not saying who. Then asked if we have cat's in Australia. Hmmm. Someone needs to get out more!!

  We then got talking about Aussie music. At that point an INXS song came on. How weird! We had all the Aussie sayings going and had a really good talk!! None of us got to drunk. Although Brooke did try. She was very upset I didn't get drunk as she had told Steve that I was a bit of a wild child. Don't know where she gets it from.   

If you like the sounds of this pub and want to give it a go then you need to go to oxford station. Walk down Regent road and it is off a little side street on the right. I like this place and would go back. I think it is a 8/10!!   Hope you like the story. Donna
