Welcome avid MCoG
fans, and for those of you now in the know, MCoG (the Mysterious
Cities of Gold) was one of the most fantastic children's programs
of the 80's and in my mind ever. I used to race home from school
every afternoon to catch my fix of MCoG, and at school the next
day it would be hottest topic on discussion. Every person I ask,
seems to display great excitement and adventure when reliving the
times and memories of this show. For a run down on the general
storyline read here.
(note, this links outside of my site) I've also recently made a Quiz, give it a go! Which Mysterious Cities of Gold Character are you? Around a year ago there
was talk of a sequel to the MCoG series, however the proposal was
unable to find appropriate funding so has been put on the
sidelines again for the time being. Drat!
Here are in my mind the most interesting and useful sites for
MCoG information.
MCOG Weekly
For the truly dedicated fans out there, this site offers one episode for download each week. Tools
and requirements with appropriate links are provided.
Bernhard's Mysterious Cities of Gold
Bernhard has a fantastic gallery, I've used one of his pictures at the top of
this page. A detailed character list, puzzle games, a complete
episode guide, Video copy contacts, Fan list, seven downloadable sound bites, downloadable
morphing sequences and a KDE (Linux) Theme, are all included.
Phew! (pssst, did I mention no popups?)
Powersheep's Mysterious Cities of Gold
An excellent source for theme songs and sound bites, video clips in Mpegs and
RealAudio, song lyrics, fan art (there is a little controversy here, so parents please take note),
Wallpapers (the link to the Icons seems to no longer run, and I keep timing out on the Theme link also).
Under Miscellaneous, information can be found regarding online discussion groups and communities. There is also
a small glossary of terms.
Sailor Heva's MCoG
An absolutely awesome site! Along with the general info, he has information on the land and history
of the regions explored in the series, info on the original book that spawned an amazing animation,
a Hidden City (find it if you can), FanFics, fan Art, a few fun quizzes, my
personality was Zia oddly enough ;) And a number of images for
adoption
Adrienne K's MCoG
A clean and well presented sight, very easy on the eyes. General info and some nice images. Best feature
would be the random quotes.
