| In this tutorial I�ll teach you how to make a new weapon without using the Rogue Spear editor. In my opinion I think that it is much easier to make a weapon by the following method rather than using the editor. First off go to the following directory: C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Rogue Spear\data\kit. Go to a gun file (example: pw_g36k) and copy it and paste it in the same folder. Rename the file to your liking and right click on it and uncheck read only in the properties. Now open the file with note pad or WordPad. You can now start to edit this file. This is in the same folder (kit). Uncheck read only again and open this file with notepad or WordPad. Copy a section of a gun and paste it at the end of this file. Edit the values and fill in where all your files can be found. It should look something like this: // 14 "ST_EQP_G36K" "pw_g36k.txt" // Description Filename "g36.bmp" // Picture Filename 1 // Number of Frames "pw_g36k.wpn" // Weapon Filename 5 // Number of Magazines 0 // Game Type (0=All, 1=SP, 2=MP) 2 // Number of Ammo Types "556x45(FMJ).amo" // Ammo Type Filename "556x45(JHP).amo" // Ammo Type Filename Be sure you make the number at the top of the file correct to the number of guns in the file. Example: 25 // Number of Weapons You can make text files on this gun and place them in the folder called text/kit/English. You can make bitmaps (pictures) for your gun and convert them with the .rsb-.bmp converter or the .rsb plugin for paintshop pro. These pictures can be put in the folder named bitmap and you must have two pictures. One will be something like g36k.bmp and the other should be g36k_inv.bmp. You can just convert these pictures that are already in the game to see what size they need to be. Now you can add the new weapon to the r6 string table. This is optional but it makes the game get you gun name correct. The "ST_EQP_G36K" is what refers the gun to the string table. Look in the folders text/interface/English/r6_sting_table. Open this and look under equipment and add you gun to it and save it. That is pretty much it. Just practice and make some guns and you�ll get that hang of it. So make some guns and have fun!
