These are, by far, our most successful videos
go back to videos
The First One
original air date December 19, 2000
Our youth pastor, Pastor Dave, just told us to make a video about a few announcements. This was shown the same night as "Dumb Song (One More Time)" and our "Britney" made a cameo. Plus it ended with the famous "The Gathering, the Gathering, the Gathering" bit.

Out-Of-Sync
original air date January 3, 2001
Jeremy and I record our voices before hand and play it a second off on the video to make us look like a baddly dubbed movie. Inspired by a beer commercial we once saw.

Pastor Speaks (with Deacon Lorwell Jones)
original air date January 10, 2001
Based on a sketch by Mark Lowry, we did this one five minutes before we left for U-Turn. Nugget makes another apperance.

Gotta-Go-Pee
original air date January 17, 2001
I guess the title is pretty self-explanatory. The "Dancing Mad" theme from Final Fantasy III provided the dramatic soundtrack.

Night at the Movies
original air date January 24, 2001
An attempt to capture the same flavor of Mystery Science Theater 3000, the silloetted characters are my tiger with the turban and Larissa's Pilsbary Douth Boy.

Peer Mediation
original air date February 7, 2001
With Larissa out of town, I was forced for the first time to pull other players into the mix. Micah and John had no idea they'd enjoy their first time round so much they'd be in almost every single one afterwards.

Love Sick LIVE!
original air date February 14, 2001
First appearance of Nick and Elyse, this one was a take off of the dating show
Change of Heart. Oddly enough John and Eylse hooked up that same night.

Los Annoucementos En Espanol
original air date February 21, 2001
Derick wanted to get in the on fun, and wrote this one inspired by the bathtub sketch from "All That". He's fluent in spanish and made up all the sayings.

Kiss My Furry Chihuahua
original air date February 28, 2001
Micah got the idea for this one. This was the first use of background music edited right into the tape.

Fatman
original air date March 7, 2001
Still one of the all time favorites. This was Corey and Beth's first go at it, and cemented Corey for reaccuring roles as the Caked Crusader.

Announcement Try-Outs
original air date March 14, 2001
We had 3 ideas for annoucements that week, and somehow figured out a way to use all of them.

The Cereal Killer
original air date March 21, 2001
This one came around the time Scary Movie was so popular. Chris landing first role here, as well as Heather her first and only one. Years later I revamped the script for my high school's film festival. (see the top of the page)

The Matrix (Part 1)
original air date March 28, 2001
Most of the cast had only seen the movie once, if at all, when we filmed this. Brad made his only apperance here. This was also the only one to be a two parter.

The Matrix (Part 2)
original air date April 4, 2001
The much anticipated finale, this one was possibly the hardest ever to film and edit. With choreographed fight scenes, slow motion and loads of Final Fantasy IX music, it was a huge hit, marking Jason and  Jack's first one. All PD could say was never do another one based on an R-rated movie.

Kooking with Klass: Konnie Klondike's Kitchen
Never shown. Only available in 2-Vol. VHS set. Filmed April 8, 2001
The original plan was to film one where everyone gets their personalities switched. But after no one showed up for filming, we were forced to make-up this one. Jesse and Christina made their only appearances here, and sadly, due to lengthiness and being hard to follow, it was never shown.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
original air date April 18, 2001
The name says it all. Half the guys hadn't even seen it the movie before we filmed, which made for an interesting experience.

The Third Man (starring Mike Rowan)
original air date May 2, 2001
Using a game from "Who's Line Is It Anyway", me and Jeremy popped in the most obscure flick we could find, put it on mute, and talked over it. Special thanks to Orson Welles.

Would-You-Rather-Mission-Impossible-Lez-Git-Im
original air date May 9, 2001
John thought up this one, after Jeremy promised him he could write one. Lack of time, props and a plot left this one lacking something. But since PD was gone that week, Zeke still showed it.

Prom Date
original air date May 16, 2001
Inspired by Jeremy's frustrations with prom, and love for Jim Carrey in "Liar Liar". Kayla's one and only run with us.

Memoirbilia
original air date June 6, 2001
The core brains of me, Jeremy, Micah, and John all put this one together, a commercial for a miracle drug that improves your memory (at the risk of a few nasty side effects).

Fatman Returns
original air date June 13, 2001
Fatman fans wanted more, and this Tony Hawk inspired sequel didn't disappoint. This was Jared's first one, as well.

The Pace's Family Heritage
original air date July 2, 2001
Our camera broke right after filming Fatman Returns, and we were left with no camera for a short while. Out of desperation Jeremy edited this together using old footage and inserting newly recording sound. Mom, Dad, Uncle Dave, and Aunt Pam make several unwitting cameos.

Flush the Fear Away
original air date July 9, 2001
We got a new camera, and Jeremy was leaving for a month to go on my New Zealand mission trip.

Behind the Scenes
Never shown. Only available in 2-Vol. VHS set. Filmed on August 21, 2001
Too much goofing off and not enough info was the common complaint, and this one shows why.

Vegamite
original air date September 5, 2001
Jeremy brought several packs of Vegamite home from New Zealand, and used the Pepsi commercials at the time to advertise it. Once again I provided the voice for another Britney Spears bashing.

Disney Sing-A-Long
original air date September 19, 2001
Putting obsessive knowledge of Disney films to good use, this one was simply us filming the movie on TV, and singing a parody (giving the announcement) over the actual song (i.e "Whole New World" becomes "Talking with Girls", "Kiss the Girl" becomes "Catch the Bus") Adam and Rachel helped with the background vocals..

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
original air date Septmeber 26, 2001
A cult favorite. This one shows just how much we could convince these poor guys to do. Jeremy actually played 3 seperate roles in this one.

Forrest Gump
original air date October 10, 2001
Another classic, John does the part he was born to play. Rachel's first on-sceen role.

Star Warped Episode I: The Freakin' Menace
original air date October 24, 2001
Another movie spoof. Nugget, the turban tiger, and the Pilsbury Dough Boy all make return apperances, as Kamey makes her first.

The Questions Game
Never shown. Only available in 2-Vol. VHS set. Filmed November 7, 2001
Filmed again 3 minutes before we left for church, and another one again taken from a "Who's Line is it Anyways" game. It got the axe simply because PD forgot to show it. Curses.

Don't Jump
Never shown. Only available in 2-Vol. VHS set. Filmed November 11, 2001
Micah did this same scene solo for an individual speech contest, and after showing it to Jeremy, he made Micah do it with John for the camera. It was never shown due to lack of time during U-Turn.

The Golden Spitoon
original air date November 21, 2001
An attempt at being original, we wrote and filmed this one early in the morning after the whole cast, save Adam (first on screen time) had slept over at my house.

Peer Mediation 2
Never shown. Only avalible in 2-Vol. VHS set. Filmed December 2,  2001
Wanting to make a Christmas one off an old classic, we tried this, but without Micah and John it didn't work. Never got shown anyways.

The Psychiatrist Office
original air date February 13, 2002
After a long break, the announcements came back for their final year. This one was taken off a "Muppet's Tonight" episode.

Jeremy's Battle With Narcolepsy
original air date February 20, 2002
Nick and Jeremy thought this one up just goofing around after U-Turn one night. Filmed on location in Mr. Harmon's room and the choir room. Those are showchoir solo tryouts you hear in the background.

U-Turn Trundle Beds
original air date March 27, 2002
Taking weeks to create due to technical problems, this spoof of "MTV Cribs" was basically Jeremy and I making fun of our own pathetic lives.

Purple Mushroom Belly-Button Lint
original air date April 10, 2001
After a Toby Mac concert, we got an idea to make this one. Filmed at Jason's spacious house, and the first one with Levi and Andrea, and the only one for Amber. In the middle Jeremy had a commercial to promote the 2 VHS U-Turn Productions set with every announcment up to that point for only $14.99.

Jeremy Narrates His Life
original air date April 17, 2002
They did this for 2 seconds on an episode of "Family Guy" and Jeremy thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen. This is the one where I got to punch Jeremy in the nose, by the way.

Jeremy vs. Larissa's Point-Of-View
original air date May 1, 2002
Quite possibly the greatest announcements short ever, and my personal favourite. Inspired by many confrontations we'd had in the past, the annoucement filming process is shown form Jeremy's point of view, and then mine, John, and Micah's point of view. Got the idea from an episode of "All in the Family". The incredible, edible Bo made a cameo to narrate.

Fatman Forever
original air date May 8, 2002
The last in the Fatman Trilogy, this was a testament to working around casting issues. In the end Dan Janush helped out by filling the Donut Knight's shoes for half the video.

Scream-O-Vision
original air date
Inspired by an episode of "Freakazoid". Jason's house returns as the set, as the cast helps scream off camera.

A Whack To Remember

original air date
After many hilarious out-takes no one ever saw, this one hit a high note with U-Turn. The famous "the Gathering" schtick is done again.

Announcements Jeopardy

Never shown. Only avalible in 2-Vol. VHS set. Filmed
After seeing SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy, we knew we had to try this. As good as it was, they ran out of time at U-Turn and it was never shown. It would have been shown the next week, but we had bigger fish to fry.

One Final Annoucement
original air date
The last one pulls out all the stops and gets almost every star of the past into it somehow. After it blacks out, the 4 of us ran into the actual bulding to finish the announcements up. The perfect finish to a fun race.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
(episode summaries taken from jeremyscartoons...although I slightly altered them)
These 43 five minutes shorts were done by my brother, myself and a bunch of our friends over a period of two years. They were originally made to simply give the announcements for youth group that week, but ended up having a life all their own. Click on the name to read the script (coming soon )
