Friday, March 29th
"Lizzie..." Trevor nudged the girl sleeping on his shoulder, but she didn't budge.
"Elizabeth..." He looked at her and chuckled. Her headphones were on her head; he could hear Dave Matthews blasting in her ears, yet she was still fast asleep. He dipped his head down and kissed her forehead.
Liz's brown eyes fluttered opened and she yawned. She smiled seeing him staring at her. "Oh, hey."
"We're here." He whispered when she pulled off her headphones and looked outside the limo they had been riding in the past hour.
"Where are we staying?"
He looked out at the large building they were pulling up to, passing fountains and shrubbery. "The Hilton Resort at Disney. So we will be right there beside the castle and everything."
Liz giggled. "I wonder why we are staying at the Hilton?"
"Hmmm..no clue."
Liz bit her lip and glanced from outside to her boyfriend. "I'm excited, Trev."
"I know you are Liz. And I can't wait to show you the room I got us."
She asked. They had pulled up to the resort now and the bellboy was already opening their door. "What is it?"
HE got out of the limo after her and grabbed her hand. "Uhh, the honeymoon suite. I couldn't resist." HE smiled sheepishly.
Elizabeth gasped and clutched his hand tighter, pulling him towards the sliding front doors. "Ahhh...lets go."
--------
"The Hilton?" Joey asked.
Lance nodded. "Yeah, that's who is sponsoring it so everyone for the charity thing is staying here or something."
"This resort is supposed to be awesome." Justin commented, stepped out of the large SUV and stretched.
Patty wrapped her arm around Lance's and leaned on him tiredly. "Just show me the pool."
"Hey, where's Brit?" The blonde asked after looking at the girl that was resting on him, lovingly.
Justin snapped back from his stretch. "She's coming in later today."
"Oh ok."
Johnny called out to the guys and waved them over. "Hey guys, come here. There is someone I want you all to meet."
They all sauntered over towards the two men. One who looked like he was in his early twenties, and was very fidgety.
Johnny smiled. "Guys this is Trevor Hilton, he is the son of Philip Hilton, ya know. Owner of these resorts."
Trevor smiled briefly with a wave. "Hi, I would be all formal and say welcome to the resort, blah blah blah, but my girlfriends massive CD collection of all Dave Matthews is about to drive off in that limo right there. So, just...welcome. Bye." With that he jogged off, towards a limo that was starting up, down the way.
"Whew...his girlfriend is lucky." Patty sighed.
"Excuse me?"
She rolled her eyes at Lance. "Oh pulease. You look at other girls."
"But not when you are around." He pouted and led her towards the entrance.
Joey turned around as the rest of the group was ahead of the one that was standing there, staring off into space, something he was starting to do more of. "Hey J, ya coming?"
Justin snapped his head up and looked around like he didn't realize where he was. "Oh yeah."
------
Next morning.
"Trev!!!"
"Wha?!?"
Liz sighed. "Come on, I wanna meet MICKEY!"
"No, not yet." With a grunt, Trevor pulled a pillow over his head.
Liz giggled and jumped on top of him, bouncing. "PULEASE!""
"I swear to God, Liz if you don't get off me."
She stopped, pulled the pillow from his face and pouted. "Puwwwweeeeaaassseeeee."
He stared at her for a while and soon an annoyed smile broke on his face. "I hate you."
She giggled and hugged him tightly. "I know."
Soon a loud groan vibrated in Trevor's throat. "Liz its 9 in the morning."
"Exactly I wanna beat the crowds. Come on, get dressed."
He chuckled, when she jumped off the bed and began pulling on his arm. "Liz, there wont be any crowds, just celebrities and the people that paid for the charity thing."
"Trev, please."
He sighed, and pushed the covers off him. "I'm getting out of bed."
-------
That afternoon
Liz clutched her boyfriend's hand as tightly as possible. "This is the happiest place on earth."
He laughed. "Well that is the motto."
"Shut up. I'm serious. I mean just look at everyone. I wanna work here. Screw med. school give me a Minnie Mouse costume."
"You'd look cute in polka dots." He said thoughtfully.
"I'm cute no matter what."
"Arrogant too."
She shoved him a bit and then he pulled her back close. She realize he was taking her to a huge tent where there were chair and chairs of people and what looked like a stage in the back. "Where are we going."
"To this big pavilion thingy for the celebrities and stuff to go to. Come on, I wanna show ya something."
She smiled and poked his stomach. "Ok, but if I miss riding Dumbo you will pay."
"Yes, ma'am."
--------
"So what are we doing?" Chris asked almost confused.
"We gotta get ready for a press conference and then we have the afternoon off, I think."
He nodded at JC. "Ok, awesome."
"I gotta call Patty and tell her to meet me back here. Ill be back in a sec ok guys?"
"All right." Justin said, the only one that had seemed to notice that Lance had even said anything. Everyone else was in their own world.
"She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes"
Joey began to laugh when an off key singing voice floated towards them. "Oh my god, who is singing?"
"That's horrible." JC chuckled.
"She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see"
Chris went over to where JC and Joey were peeking behind the side curtains near the end of the stage. "He is ruining a classic. Hey, that's that dude we met earlier today. The Hilton guy."
"I wanna see." Justin pushed them out of the way and peeked through the crack of the curtain.
Joey's laughter boomed and he pointed to the small woman on stage, beside the man that was singing. "Look at her, she looks completely horrified and touched at the same time. This is great."
"She looks familiar." Chris pondered.
"She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me"
Justin gasped when his eyes locked on to the girl. "Oh my...god."
-------
"Trevor Hilton..." Liz muttered through clenched teeth. He just kept on singing.
"She can lead you to love
She can take your or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe you
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
She steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me"
He stood up from the stool he was on and grabbed her hand, belting into the microphone and staring her in the eyes, making a complete fool outta both of them.
"Oh--she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh--and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind"
He twirled her around, and she actually started to laugh. Her face was burning and her hands were shaking, but she went along with it anyway, and sorta danced with him in front of the crowd of people sitting there in front of them. They were all smiling and there were people looking in from outside of the tent.
"She will promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me"
Liz tucked her embarrassed face into his chest, when one arm wrapped around her and he kept singing. HE was embarrassing her to no end, but it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for her.
"Oh--she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh--and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind"
On the other hand, one stunned pop star couldn't move, he just stood there looking up at the stage...in utter shock.
"She is frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
But she can't be convicted
She's earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me"
The song ended and Trevor got a sympathetic standing ovation as he spoke in the microphone. "Thank you. Happy Birthday Lizzie."
She muttered. "You are so dead."
"I know." He shrugged his face a little red too.
"I love you." She whispered, being pulled closer to him.
"I love you too." With a quick and promising kiss, he pulled away and smiled.
Liz chuckled and pushed at his chest. "Now if you don't get me off this stage I swear I'm going to break up with you."
-------
Justin's face fell and his world started to spin as he saw her in his arms, her lips on his. He had never felt jealously that hard before. He watched as the crowd cheered them on and he pulled her off stage and walked with her briskly through the center aisle, laughing and holding her hand. It looked like they had just been married. He could picture them being showered in rice or birdseed right about now.
He realized that would be him in a few months. But not with Lizzie. She already had a man.
That was all he could think about. He didn't even ponder that, wow, here she was back alive and in his mind. He didn't even realize that he might bump into her, or that Trevor Hilton the guy he met earlier had been talking about Elizabeth Meyers when he said the whole DMB collection thing. None of that entered his brain.
All he could think about was Trevor kissing her, and how wrong it seemed to him.
