"Man, there are a bunch of people here already." Liz said, turning the wheel to her accord and parking in a space.
"I'm nervous." Lisa bit her lip and looked up at the older girl getting out of the car.
"Why Lisa?" She asked once she had locked the doors.
Lisa skipped up to her and clasped her aunts outstretched hand. "Because they are NSYNC!!"
"So, they are just like you and me. So what if they are famous? They go to the bathroom and brush their teeth just like everyone else. Well I HOPE they brush their teeth."
Lisa smiled and swung her arm with Elizabeth's. "We know Justin does because of his smile."
"Ohh yeah, that's the 2000 watt boy. I'm going to have to have a chat with him and tell him to tone it down a bit."
Lisa asked as they approached the venue. "Where do we go?"
"Hmmm, I don't know...let's just follow those girls. They look like they know where they are going." Liz pointed to 3 teenage girls who were walking around with their mothers.
"Ohh kaayy."
They got closer and closer to the building and noticed that there were groups of young girls scattered about.
"Come on, I'm going to go ask." Liz walked them over to a group of girls that were dressed up with sparkly makeup and clubby outfits. "Excuse me, are you guys here for the meet n greet?"
"YES!! OH MY GAWD!! I can't BELIEVE I'm like NEAR Justin!! AHH!! I wonder what he is doing right now." This one girl with too much makeup and bleach blonde hair squealed at her.
-Probably Britney, you obsessed freak. - "Ohh, do you know where we are supposed to go?" Liz put on a fake smile.
One of the darker haired girls smiled and said, "Just hang out around here if you have passes, they are going to get everyone in line in a few I think. At least that's what this lady said about 15 minutes ago."
"Oh ok, thank you." Liz smiled and pulled Lisa and herself away from the teenyboppers.
"Tank you!" Lisa waved at the girls.
"Well, I guess we will just wait here." Lizzie looked down at Lisa and smiled.
"I get to meet Lance." She gushed, putting her smiling face in her aunt's stomach.
"I thought you wanted to meet the dread dude?"
She pulled away and nodded vigorously. "I do. I wanna meet em ALL!!"
"Ok, well you will get your chance."
"And so will you." She giggled.
"Yeah, but I'm not excited like you are Lisa."
She rocked back and forth on her small feet and smiled. "You will be annieliz. Just wait. They are soo nice and funny and cute."
"Whatever you say Lisa. Whatever you say."
--------
"Justin, hey, we gotta be ready for meet n greet in like 30 minutes ok?"
"Yeah...I know." He whimpered and walked down the long hallway as JC passed him. "Hey, have you seen Lance around?"
"He was with Brownie in the playroom I think." JC shrugged and walked away.
"OHH perfect! Just who I need to talk to." Justin sped up and lightly jogged down the hallways towards the playroom.
He got to the door and busted through.
"HEY GUYS I - whoa..." Justin stopped dead in his tracks at the two people in the middle of the room.
The lightening was dim and the stereo was playing Marvin Gaye. Patty and Lance just stopped their slow dancing for a moment and Lance glared at Justin.
"WHAT?" Lance growled his deep voice as low as possible.
"Uhh, sorry. I just wanted to talk to Patty, but sorry." Justin bit his lip and started to turn around.
"What is it Justin?" Patty asked, prying herself away from Lance.
He cringed. "Girl trouble."
"What did Britney do."
"It's not Britney."
Patty's eyebrows connected. "Then- OHHH interent girl. Come in, tell me buddy."
Lance grumbled over to the stereo, flicked it off and plopped down in a chair, obviously unhappy. Justin turned the lights brighter and walked over to the couch where Patty was summoning.
"So Lance tells me she's going to be at the meet n greet."
Justin sighed and rubbed his forehead. "I know. And the thing is, is when a little girl named Lisa asks me for an autograph and I look up and see this girl in jeans and a gray rainbow whatever sweater...I don't know what to do. Do I say Hey I'm the dude you talk to online? Or just ignore her. Or tell her afterwards or what if she is ugly or mean or..."
"Justin. Now that's just lame if you are going to blow her off because she is ugly."
"Sorry. I'm just nervous and anxious and scared. This girl is so cool on the net. And what happens if she is dropped dead gorgeous or something. Ya know? I mean, this is like the weirdest thing."
"It is kinda strange." Patty said.
"What the hell am I gonna do?" Justin ran his hands through his hair and rested his elbows on his knees, holding the back of his head.
Patty looked over at Lance who looked completely pissed off. She was just on the tour for a week and Lance wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. But he understood how she was like Justin's older sister at times.
She pulled Justin over to her, and wrapped her arm around him. "It'll be ok. Just relax, you never know. Maybe she just an average everyday chick. She's not a fan right?"
"No. She loves Dave Matthews."
"That's good. At least she wont be like "oh my god your..." ya know?"
"Hehe, that reminds me. One day we were chatting like what would we do if we ever met. She has no idea who I am, but I bet her 50 bucks that she would say "oh my god" at least once. Now, I get to see if she keeps that bet." He looked up at Patty and smiled. "Thanks Brownie."
"You'll be ok, juju. Remember that she has no idea that you are...you. So, if you don't feel comfortable telling her, you don't have to."
"Right. But man, I can't wait to see what she looks like."
Patty shot Lance a look. They both rolled their eyes.
------
"LOOK THERE THEY ARE!!" Lisa squealed, pointing towards the table far away, where the 5 Nsync members had just sat down at. The squeals were almost too much for Elizabeth.
"Dang, I should have brought ear plugs. They are just five gay guys."
"Gay?" Lisa looked up at her with a pondering look.
"Forget it. I wonder how long its going to take to get there."
"Well we are kinda near the front. There are a lot of people behind us compared to in front."
Lizzie looked behind her to the long, long line of girls. There were only about 30 people in front of them and at least 4 times that many behind them. "Guess, we got lucky in line, eh?"
"Yeah. I'm so nervous annieliz!" Lisa whined.
"It'll be ok." She smiled down at the young light brown haired girl in front of her, biting her nails in anxiousness.
Elizabeth over heard all the conversations surround her about how hot and funny and whatnot the boys were. She thought it was kinda sad that THAT was what they were popular for. She wasn't a huge fan, but they had good enough voices. They didn't completely suck. They were no Dave Matthews Band though. No where near.
"Oh my god Justin is FUINE!"
She rolled her eyes at one girl's comment. And she couldn't help but think about her Justin. He was supposedly in Baltimore right now. In a way, she kinda wished she was with him. Learning more about the man behind CurlyJay23.
-Oh my god, you are turning into a sappy single 30 year old romance novelist. "The man behind CurlyJay..." what the hell am I thinking. Must be all the teenies. Giving off weird vibes. -
"Annieliz, we are almost there." Lisa squealed.
Lizzie hadn't realized her thoughts had taken her away from the real world for a few moments, for actually several moments. There were just 2 girls in front of them now. She looked down at her niece. She was so happy and nervous. Elizabeth couldn't help but smile.
A lady with a walkie-talkie and several cards hanging around her neck checked their passes and smiled at them. "Ok, just go right on up."
Lizzie smiled as Lisa got some bold sense of confidence dropped her hand, and walked right on up to the first member. Elizabeth just shook her head and followed.
----
Justin sighed, and pulled on his khaki fisherman's hat. He was almost afraid to look up. He heard a little girl boldly say "HEY JUSTIN!"
He looked up under the bill of his cap and smiled, pulled a picture of himself from the stack in front of him and asked, "Hey there sweetie. Who do I make this out to?"
"LISA!" She all but shouted.
The name Lisa made his black sharpie pen stop and his eyes looked up over the young girls head to a pair of dark cargo jeans, and a gray sweater with different colored stripes on them. Her hands were in her pockets and her face was contorted into a yawned. She sighed, licked her lips, shook her head to wake herself up and flashed him a perfect white smile.
Justin's mouth dropped open a bit and he just stared at her. -Oh my god. -
