| Helium was discovered on 1895 by Sir William Ramsay. The name helium comes from the Greek work helious, which means the sun. Helium is very common in our world. It is used for floating balloons blimps. zepelines, low temperature experiments, deep sea diving, and most importantly it is used to make your voice very high! It is obtained from a natural gas deposit and the air. Helium represents today's major source of noble gas. It is the most important noble gas, commercially. This is because it is sued as a coolant to perform experiments at very low temperatures. This is possible due to having the lowest boiling point of any elements. Helium has two protons, two electrons, and two neutrons. It only has one energy level that consists of two electrons. Facts Helium is the second lightest element, right after helium. Helium has the lowest melting point. Helium is the 2nd most abundant element in the universe. Helium takes up around 23% of the universe's mass. Helium is rare on Earth because of our gravity that isn't strong enough to trap a lot! Helium does not conduct electricity. If it does it only conducts a little. Helium is not very reactive. Especially witth air and fire. Helium is produced by the sun |
