In New Orleans you will discover a city proud of its past history and its jazz heritage

The French Quarter

Walk along Bourbon Street with its jazz nightclubs, artist workshops, souvenir and antique shops and strip-tease clubs. The French Quarter will not deprive your appetite because the area has restaurants everywhere to satisfy your palate. Also see the Cathedral which is the oldest in the Unites States, the French Market, and many shops.

If you have enough time, buy a guide and visit Lake Pontchatrain, or the dozens of museums, according to your wishes.

Jazz Music

Something you must see is the Mecca of jazz: Preservation Hall. At night you can go there to hear jazz music for a very reasonable price. You can sit on the floor or on an old bench to listen to several half-hour sessions and stay as long as you like.

You will find at street corners some little bands with very good jazz: ragtime, blues, spirituals in the tradition of Sidney Bechet, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and others.
