China Chamber of International Commerce
Beijing Chamber of Commerce (CCOIC
Beijing) is a local non-government organization
composed of social dignitaries, influential
enterprises and organizations of the economic
and trade circles in Beijing. In 1978, in
cooperation with Beijing municipal departments,
import and export corporations and some
leading industrial and commercial enterprises
in Beijing, CCPIT Beijing set up World Trade
Center Beijing (WTC Beijing) and became a
member of World Trade Center Association
(WTCA).

Its aims are to promote Beijing's foreign
trade, utilization of foreign capital, introduction
of advanced foreign technology, and various
forms of economic and technical exchanges and
cooperations with other countries and regions.

At present, CCPIT Beijing has established relations with 500 trade promotion organizations and chambers of commerce & industry, world trade centers, international fair organizations all over the world as well as the Beijing representative offices of foreign economic and trade orgnizations.CCPIT Beijing has signed agreements of cooperation with 37 of them. Meanwhile, over 1,000 trade talks, lectures on technical exchanges have been hosted by CCPIT Beijing and about 1,000 projects of joint ventures and cooperation have been introduced. It boasts electronic telecom network linking over 200 cities in over 50 countries and regions. Each year over 10,000 pieces of information on international trade, joint ventures and cooperative projects are provided for Chinese and foreign enterprises.

CCPIT Beijing has so far organized or co-organized in Beijing 144 international fairs and exhibitions. It has also organized import & export coporations, industrial and trading compnaies to stage or to attend 60 international fairs and exhibitions abroad.

Legal consultation services and legal advisors are provided for foreign-funded and domestic enterprises. CCPIT Beijing is also commissioned to act as attorneys to deal with lawsuits and arbitration. Moreover, CCPIT Beijing is authorized to issue, legalize commercial documents and foreign trade documents, and to conduct agency business for application of consular legalization. CCPIT Beijing has issued annually about 10,000 certificates of origin. Beijing Conciliation Center of CCPIT has been in active operation in recent years. It provides legal services to Chinese and foreign clients. and upon entrustment it handles by means of conciliation, economic and trade disputes. CCPIT Beijing has a membership of 1,000 units including organizations, enterprises and individuals. More than 10 local international chambers of commerce and CCPIT local branches have been established at district and country level.

Taking advantage of its global channels and service functions,CCPIT Beijing, CCOIC Beijing and WTC Beijing, in order to assist Beijing's enterprises to move towards international markets and to develop the world's awareness of Beijing, sincerely wish to serve better as a bridge for further development of world trade and cooperation.

The Business scope of CCPIT Beijing

HANDLING LIAISON WORK
  • To handle liaison work with foreign chambers of commerce and industry around the world. CCPIT Beijing has established friendly and cooperative ties with foreign chambers of commerce and industry, and with trade promotion organizations in about 40 countries and regions.

  • To keep contacts with the commercial sections of foreign embassies in Beijing, and with the Beijing office of foreign commercial organizations.

  • To strengthen ties with the overseas commercial sections of Chinese embassies

  • To invite and host foreign business delegations and personnel as well as to arrange and host Sino-foreign business discussions for cooperation and business exchanges.

  • To organize the members of World Trade Center Beijing to participate in WTCA activities, and to maintain contacts with more than 300 local world trade centers in the world and to provide economic and trade information in order to promote inter-city economic-trade exchanges and cooperation.

ORGANIZING INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS
  • To host and stage international exhibitions of specialized subjects at regular intervals in China.

  • To contact and stage international exhibitions in China for foreign organizations.

  • To stage exhibitions abroad or participate in international fairs.

RENDERING INFORMATION AND CONSULATION SERVICES

  • To collect international economic information about trade and joint venture opportunities from more than 200 cities all over the world and provide the clients with information through network, mail post, and data floppy disk.

  • To make international advertisements through network for domestic clients.

  • To act upon entrustment to conduct credit investigation of foreign companies, to press for payment of debt for domestic compnaies.

  • To offer inquiry services concerning Sino-foreign enterprises and overseas trade directories through network system.

  • To provide relevant departments with material on foreign politics, economics, cultures, and other background information.

PROMOTING INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT

  • To organize Sino-foreign business discussions both at home and broad, and business visits.

  • To render intermediary services concerning international trade

  • To render intermediary services concerning international investment projects ( including seeking cooperative partners, conducting assessment and feasibility studies, working out project proposals, feasibility analysis report and decision-making proposals, etc.).

  • To render intermediary services to local international chambers of commerce and CCPIT local councils at district and county level, and to more than 1,000 member units for the purpose of promoting international trade and economic and technical cooperation.

PROVIDING LEGAL CONSULTATION AND SERVICES

  • To provide legal consultation to import-export enterprises.

  • To act upon entrustment as legal advisors for enterprises.

  • To provide the following commercial documents or bills:
    a. Issuing Certificates of Origin.
    b. Issuing Certificates of Processing and Certificates of Re-Export.
    c. Legalizing Foreign-Trade Documents.
    d. Issuing Certificates of Foreign Trade.
    e. Agency Business for Application of Consular legalization.

  • To act upon entrustment as attorneys to deal with arbitration, patent applications and to offer consultation about industrial property right.

  • To solve disputes concerning international economic and trade transactions by means of conciliation.
