The bride from the sea By: Nanu107 Disclaimers: Seph and Aeris are not mine, never were, never will. They are own by Squarsoft and co. (Too bad though!) Part I The girl from the sea (aka; His wife from the sea) Swimming towards the surface the huge winged man fought against the cold waters to get to the surface. His lungs burned for oxigen as he moved his wings. Surely the little woman on his arms was feeling the same. Raising her to the surface, knowing she was almost death, the man could see and feel the cold wind blowing over the blue ocean as he rose on the air, his hands grasping her sides raising her towards life, their hair was caugh on the sun light making it filter in tiny spots of blinding light. Taking a deep gulp of oxigen himself, the man let the woman rest over his own chest as the both of them floathed over the surface. As she finally breathed the man looked at her with his deep green eyes trying to make out who she was. She was unconsious, her body floathed against his softly, moving with the waves. Pulling her over his back he folded his wings, making a cradlew with them. He began to swim towards a tropical island that looked desert, but as he neared it he could see the children playing on the beach. When they saw him their eyes sparkle and they called for him and for the other natives to see he was coming. Turning he took the woman on his arms, slowly pulling her out of the water. Her pink dress stuck to her fragile looking frame and as he put her down on the floor part of the town had gathered around him. Brushing the long wet hair away from her face the tall gray haired young man looked down at her. He face was the one of an angel, and he knew it. Her long chestnut hair covered her legs and hands, as she laid on the floor unconsious. Looking up he saw one of the old men of the village looking down at the girl and then turning to him. - This is the bride the sea had given you. Now you must take care of her until she recovers. - Bride? - He said puzzled. - I asked for no bride. - The sea had given her to you. Be greatful it gave you a bride and not death. You must care for her. - Turning to the sea the old man saw the clouds above it. - A storm is coming, we must search for shelter. Sephiroth, - the man turned to him. - You must take your bride away from the other men, she is beautiful and only the gods know what they could do to her. Nodding Sephiroth took the girl on his arms, carring her towards his house, wich was actually a deep cave near the shore, but far from the tempestuos waves of the sea. The set of caves was separated as if they were apartments, although they were a small tribe they had traveled and bought materials to turn their caves into decent houses. Sephiroth's cave had a big brown door, it was in the first floor of a long line of other apartments. Although he had no power to buy a tv or fridge he was happy with his wodden floor, fine kitchen and the running water. He had a happier life there. In the upper and next caves he could hear the other native preparing for the storm. Putting his 'wife from the sea' over his bed, Sephiroth turned. He could see the children from before looking shyly inside. - Come in here, Kaoru. Walking inside the cave one of the girls looked shyly at the 6'1" tall man and blinked. - Yes, Sephiroth? - I want you to stay here with my 'bride from the sea' and take care of here while I'm gone, ok? - He said taking a pair of bags he kept to search for wood and food. - Yes. - I'll be back soon. - touching the girl's head Sephiroth turned and walked outside. - The rest of you, young men, stay in the door and keep watch. You must protect the two girls. - Yes Sir! - The five kids said in unisome as Sephiroth walked away. Walking with the rest of the men into the near woods Sephiroth gathered wood, fruits and small animals he could hunt for dinner and tommorow night. The storm could pass quickly, or slowly, even stay in place for a few days until it died down. For this he must stay prepared and ready, and more now that he had a wife to take care of. He took a deep breath and found a handful of grapes and closer to it another handful of wildberries. A few feet away he saw several other handsfuls of berries. Looking at his bag he found it was already full and as a thunder striked the sky he ran back to his cave and sended the kids home. Letting the small pile of wood fall on the floor Sephiroth settled the fruits on the small table and putted the two back on again. When he went outside the rest of the men were running back home. Although they screamed at him to return he did not obey and dissapeared in the fog around the forest. As the rain intensified the cave grew colder. Throwing the bag full of wood in the floor and sitting near his table Sephiroth breathed hard. His bag was about to burst with fruits he had collected from deep inside the forest. Berries, bananas, strawberries, cherries and other colorful fruits fell over the table. Looking at the girl still sleeping on his bed, Sephiroth took a deep breath. The fireplace had already being set for him. Taking a wooden box from the corner of the small rock-table Sephiroth casted an ice spell in it, frozing the floor of it. he put the small animals he'd hunt outside. The rain fell on the small window and splasyhed in the already wet rock sending small drops of water inside. Some of this drops touched Sephiroth and as he moved busilly through his kitchen; moving the huge boxes around full with fruits, Sephiroth stopped and went towards it, taking the stick holding the table over it. As he moved busilly over the small cave he didn't notice the girl moving. Her hair fall to her side and onto the floor. Feeling her hair heavy the girl opened her green eyes, looking directly at a rock Part 2 During the storm Sitting on the small bed the girl shivered, the cold wind swipped around her making her skin raise. She was wet and cold, hungry the girl put both feet on the ground. Where was she? Last thing she remembered was the green lights of the Lifestream then nothing. Why was she back? Was the planet in troubles again, but why her anyway? Standing from the bed the girl walked towards a small clearing. A thunder was heard and the small cave trembled. Looking down the girl saw wood covering the floor. The room was neatly done, the bed was huge, doubling a normal small bed, there was a drawer in a corner and some sheets liying on it's far end. Somehow knowing those were her sheets the girl turned to stare at a door, and a closet. Looking inside she found men clothing, towels and more sheets. Taking one towel, a pair of sweetpants and a t-shirt, Aeris dryed her hair. Taking off her small red sweater and beginning to unbutton her dress. Hurring so she could be warm, Aeris let the dress fall along with her sweater and underwear. Putting the large pants and shirt on she felt it warm against her skin. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath she smiled. The bed as wet and changing the sheets she put her clothing and the wet sheets in a small hamper she found in the closet. Outside the rain was falling harder and she wondered if there was a storm passing by. Crumbling her stomach called at her. 'Yes, I'm going.' She patted her belly and took a deep breath. Walking towards the door she felt her heart beating fast, aceapting whatever she found, but nothing prepeared for what happened. As she reached for the doorknob the door opened. Jumping Aeris saw the owner of the clothing she was wearing. Looing started the girl stared at him. Sephiroth looked at her and their eyes met. Her hair was dry, her skin seemed soft but she was pale. Her deep green eyes looked at her scare. She had reason to do so, after all he killed her...but that was long ago. Right now he had a tray of food for her, and he wanted to, if necesary, beg for her forgiveness. Feeling a little guilty Sephiroth took a deep breath and spoke. - I know you must be confuse. I brough this tray of food for you. - Giving two steps forward Sephiroth saw her giving two steps backwards. Still wide eyed Aeris watched him walk towards a small night table she hand't see, pulling it closer to the bed and putting the food over it. - Please, eat up before it gets cold. - Turning he left the room. Trembling Aeris sat down on the floor. What if the food was poisoned? Did he kidnapped her? What if she said something? will he kill her? Taking deep breaths and staring at the food from the other side of the room, Aeris caressed her neck. What reasons did he had to kill her now? He was free from Jenova's influence, or so he seemed, and he lead a peaceful life, judging from the neatly done house. Soon hunger took over her and she walked over to the small table, looking at the food. Soup was the main plate, potatoes, and chicken flote on it and she saw the delicious slices of bread covered with butter. Near it was a tall glass of strawberry juice. In a smaller plate a fruit salad called for her. And if she wasn't completly satisfice he brough her a small cup of rice and a sliced pickle. She loved pikles. Smelling the food she quickly doubet it was poinsoned and took the spoon from the table drinking the warm soup quickly with the slices of bread. Soon the rice and the pickle followed. Waiting a little she ate the fruits slowly, enjoying the sweet flavor. When Sephiroth came again into the room all the food and the strawberry juice were gone. Aeris was sitting on the bed listening to the winds roaming outside. Even though it was night a strange light covered her. He looked at her and smiled softly. She seemed shocked by these. Taking a deep breath Sephiroth stood a few feet from her. Looking at her. Aeris looked up at him, shyly raising her head. Sephiroth's eyes met her's and they both stayed in silence. Suddenly Aeris spoke: - Am I your prisioner? He chuckled. - No. I found you drowning and I brough you here. - Where is here? - It's a small island in the middle of the sea. - Are you going to kill me? - No. Aeris seemed releaved. Her nervousness eased away and she smiled, standing from the bed and looking around. Sephiroth watched her, following her with his eyes. Suddenly a thunder broke the sky and Aeris jumped. - A storm is passing outside. It'll be gone by tommorrow night. - Wow. - She chuckled nervously. - You have a nice house. - You are invited to see the rest of it when you are willing to go out this room. Lowering her head Aeris, turned to the bed. - Thank you for saving me. He stayed quiet. Looking down at the floor. - And for your clothing; I promise to clean it. - Aeris. - He looked up at her and saw her sitting on the bed. He put his tray down, walking towards the flower girl. She looked at him and her eyes widened as she realized he was coming closer to her. - Se... Just them he knealed before her. - Please...forgive me. End of Chapter One
