Nobody Plays Baseball - Or Loves Baseball - Like Kirby Puckett

His incredible catch at the center field fence and his eleventh-inning home run in Game Six of the 1991 World Series turned that game around, helped rocket the Minnesota Twins from last place to World Series champs, and made Kirby Puckett a bona fide superstar. Voted Most Valuable Player in 1993's All-Star Game and with a career batting average that ranks third among all active players, two World Series rings, and five Golden Glove Awards to his credit, he's accomplished the American Dream.

Kirby has a thrilling rags-to-riches story, from growing up the youngest of nine children in a Chicago housing project, to his first major league game, to his cliffhanging negotiations after the '92 season, which led to a hard-won five-year contract.

Unswervingly upbeat, Kirby's warm, sunny disposition delights a natio of fans.
