Read about us...

I think I am one of the luckiest people in the world. As a child and as a teenager, I probably could not imagine myself writing this. But today, I truly believe that this is true. Just spend a few more minutes browsing this web site and you will see why I feel so blessed in life.

Yep, that's me my friend and I.

So here I am sitting in front of that computer thing again and wondering : "How the heck is that working"
Rather then cranking in code for LinSat, GPS, or YABA.

Ps. Hello to all my friends out there.

Please be advised that going to my Homepage usually causes drowsiness, insomnia and star-neck-stiffness. (click Here)

This is Missy. She is a seven year old tabby cat. Missy is a closet socialite. Once she gets to know you, she will allow you to pet her anytime, but don't expect her attention until then. She does not like her brother, Bruno, and she loves to get brushed.

This is Bruno. He is a seven year old tabby cat. Bruno likes to snuggle at night and is a lap-addicted cat by day. He likes playing with dripping water from the facet and he hates getting brushed. Bruno is a great cat model. We're hoping Friskies will recruit him one day so that he can be the breadwinner of the family.

Meet our families!

The Lu's

My parents-John and Ann-are restaurant owners, great chefs and encouraging parents. Thus, I am a restaurant brat. As soon as I learned how to walk and talk, I was at the restaurant helping out or in one case, getting run over and smacked in the face by a tray one of our waiters was carrying. Mom and dad have been in this business for over 30 years, and they are the first to tell anyone that it's not an easy business to maintain. Three chinese restaurants later, they now own a Japanese sushi restaurant in Virginia Beach called Ginza.

My parents both grew up in Taiwan, but both were born in China. Both sets of grandparents fled China and went to Taiwan to get away from the Communists.Dad has six brothers and one sister, and mom has three sisters and two brothers. Today, I have countless cousins. My grandfather died when my dad was a teenager, so my grandmother, now deceased, really struggled to raise her sons and daughter the best that she could at the time. My mom still has family in Taiwan and my grandparents visit the U.S. every so often. That's us in a nutshell!

Julie, my older sister, is a litigator with Duane Morris in Philadelphia, PA. We are all really proud to have an attorney in the family! Unfortunately as the first born, Julie always had to let me and my brother have our ways as children. She's made many sacrifices as the oldest daughter. As a result, she is a super sister and I cannot imagine life without her. Dave, my younger brother, just graduated from James Madison University. He is an active leader at his church. So far, he has made many missionary trips during his spring breaks. So while everyone was having fun in the sun, Dave was in different parts of the country spreading God's word and building houses for Habitat for Humanity. We're all really proud of him, too!

And then there is my Aunt Margaret, who is my godmother and who lives with my parents in Va. Beach. She is a great woman and one of the most generous people I will ever know. And there's my Aunt Fran and Uncle Larry who probably regret buying a house in Herndon, VA since that seems to have turned into a meeting point for all family gatherings and summer intern housing. And there are tons of other aunts, uncles, and cousins that make up our clan.

The Okan's

My parents grew up in different countries all together. My mother (Marianne) met my dad (Hikmet) when he came over from Turkey to work in Germany for a couple of years. Well it has been since 35 years and still counting.

We were five in our home. My older Sister Carmen who just recently started to cab people around and the rest of the day is going postal.

My younger brother Saim who's technomania has not only let him lose his front teeth but also found him the nicest girlfriend (hai Danny).

My other Sister Susanne was kept safe with my grandmother to ensure she grew up to be 'normal'. Well describe normal and you discover that there is no such thing as normal. Thus I believe Susie is as normal as can be trying to improve her english.

We moved around in Germany only a few times. From Frankfurt Roedelheim, to Frankfurt Unterliederbach. From Unterliederbach to Kelkheim.

We have had as long as I can remember cats and in the past 20 years also dogs. I love cats ... Dogs ... well
