�Revival�Oneness in Jesus� Vol 3 No 7 Ps 85:6 Rom 15:5,6 November 2008 �I�m concerned about you my friend. You�ve been so glum the last few days.� Josiah patted Jeremiah�s shoulder as he walked by. Jer with his hands on his forehead didn�t look up, when Joey sat down beside him. Jer�s eyes were filled with tears, droplets of perspiration covered his furrowed brow. �Wife problems? Joey grinning, tilted his head nudging Jer, who didn�t respond. �Naw.� The words came out in a whisper. �It�s the state of our country. I�ve been studying on Revelations and Matthew 24. I�m just under a burden for our country. The Rapture and the Tribulation may be coming very soon. Only God knows when, but the signs, especially in this country are ripe. The harvest is ripening and the laborers are few. We need a REVIVAL in our hearts and Unity together in Jesus to save our land. It has gotten so far away from God and His principles.� Jer�s big shoulders shuddered. �What happened to Jesus first place in our hearts, Joey? We�ve forsaken the One who made this country great. Jesus is our only hope and we�ve diminished Him to a baby in a manager. Even the Christmas celebration is only a �winter holiday�. We�ve taken our Heavenly Father and Jesus out of every nook and cranny of our hearts and our nation. We no longer reverence His Holy Name. We just put Him on the shelf with all the other gods, if we even do that. We are thankful for our blessings, but we forget to be thankful for the ONE who gave us Himself and eternal life. We smear His Name by compromising abortion, human slavery, pornography, homosexuality and more. This nation, which was once founded on godly principles, is persecuting believers for even speaking the Name of Jesus. Even in the churches across this land, we have modern entertainment religion, instead of worshiping and praying in reverence to Jesus. How many churches have an altar and prayer time, and invitation to Jesus? Even our children only pray to ask for something, if they pray at all. We don�t even KNOW Jesus really. We are wrapped up in social activities, organizations, programs, argumentative doctrinologies. We have completely denied His LORDSHIP and ONENESS in our lives. I�m wondering when He will forsake our land completely. Jesus is coming back soon and so very many are not ready. There are few laborers in the fields planting the seed of the gospel of His love in Unity in Jesus.� Here�s a quote from Billy Graham that might cheer you. �Who knows what God might do if His people began to pray fervently for spiritual revival. Perhaps one reason satan has gained such a hold on so many lives is because we don�t pray enough.� Joey tucked the flyer in his Bible. �Jer, I�ve been studying on revival. Of course you know well the scripture 2 Chronicles 7:14. But there is more than that. Revival has to come in our hearts individually, before it can come in our nation. I�ve learned by studying early church history, it comes from an individual encounter with the Living Christ, seeking the Oneness of John 17. Then we must seek Oneness with our mate if married, then Oneness in the Church family. It�s about ONENESS IN Jesus.� �Joey you have really given me a burden. Will we ever have Unity in Jesus across this land when churches can�t even get along?� Jer rubbed his forehead, threading his fingers thru his sandy brown locks. �Only the Holy Spirit can do that work. Phil 1:27 tells us to stand firm in One Spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. We cannot have revival in this land unless we are first One with the One who is the Way Truth and the Life individually, then together. The Holy Spirit will work in us if we Pray by asking, seeking, knocking, passionately.� Jer explained, thumbing thru the scriptures pointing some out. �This is a BIG study alright. I was just reading the revivals in the Bible. I�ve started a book on the Great revivals and awakenings started by men like Count Zinzendork, George Whitefield, John Wesley, Charles Finney, Robert Murray, William Booth, E.M. Bounds, Jonathan Goforth, Evan Roberts, Mordecai Ham, William Nicholson, James Fraiser, and others�. Their relationship of Oneness with the Lord Jesus was the primary factor, and their prayer life. Here are some of the elements that will make for a Great Revival in our hearts, homes and our land: Word Confession Repentance Prayer Holy Spirit Faith Jesus Cross Evangelism Praise Humility Oneness �What�s the most important thing in your life right now?� Joey bounced the ball into his court. �Well, uh it�s Mary and the kids. I know Jesus should be First. I just get so distracted with work and paying bills and being a good Dad and husband. You know, going to the boys� ballgames, going shopping with Mary. All good things, yet I know I can�t be all that, the way I should, if I don�t put loving Jesus first. I confess I need help, even though the family and I go to church, we don�t really take time to study and pray together like we should. We don�t talk about Jesus like He was really the love of our lives. The Real Person of Jesus just isn�t first in our lives. That�s what is missing.� �I know, I know. I haven�t arrived yet. I�ve been so wrapped up in evangelism, sharing Jesus and serving Him, I�ve forgotten to really know Him and Love Him. He asks us to ABIDE IN HIM. In His prayer to His Father in John 17, He prays for an intimate Oneness in our relationship with Him.� Josiah opened his Bible to Jn 17:22-24 �And the glory which Thou has given Me I have given to them; that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them, even as Thou didst love Me. Father, I desire that they also whom Thou hast give Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me; for Thou didst love Me before the foundation of the world.� v20 also tells Jesus prayer includes us �I do not ask in behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word.� Jer stared at the page for a moment in awe. �Wow! Jesus was concerned for us who are living now, even when He was on His way to the Cross! I can�t imagine such love. He even said His Heavenly Father loves us as much as He does His own Beloved Son, His firstborn.� Joey flipped the pages. �That�s because Jesus, the Lamb of God shed His blood for our sins, that we might be Children of the Holy Father and equally loved as Jesus the Holy Son of God. Without Jesus all we have is this life, Jer. We know about the trials and tribulations even now, and greater darkness is coming. You are right! We need to seek the One who is our ALL. We can�t be light in the darkness of this world for revival, if we are not ONE with Jesus first, then with our mates with Him, then out church family and The Church of Believers. A mighty revival has to come straight from our hearts, as His Spirit brings a revival to give Jesus Lordship, honor and praise in us.� �Yep. We need to get in that �yoke� with Jesus. He says right here, �Come to ME.� And here, �Abide in ME and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in ME, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from ME you can do nothing.� Joey reached over and gave Jer a man-sized hug as the tears rolled down his face. �Jesus is the One who makes us One by His rich sacrificial unlimited everlasting Love.� Let�s pray for that revival right now together. Ps 85:6 �Wilt Thou not Thyself revive us again, That Thy people may rejoice in Thee? Show us Thy lovingkindness, O Lord, and grant us Thy salvation.� �our hearts be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God�s mystery, Christ Himself.� Col 2:2 �If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.� �Come let us return to the Lord, For He has torn us, but He will heal us.� He will revive us, raise us up, that we may live before Him. So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior in Unity of Spirit. He will revive our hearts, that we may be One with Him. Holy Father grant us to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, that with one accord we may with one voice glorify the God and Father of Jesus Christ. Do you want to see a revival in our land to the godly principles which founded this nation and made it prosperous and safe to live in? Have you had a revival in your heart to make Jesus your Lord as well as your Savior? You can, just ask Jesus into your heart as your Lord right now. Confess your sins and ask Him by the Power of His Holy Spirit He will give you, to help you make Jesus Lord. You can have Oneness Jesus prayed for you in John 17. As we all have that Oneness with Jesus, then with our mate, church and the Believers of His Church, we can lift up our communities, our nation and the world to a revival of Oneness in Jesus Christ our Lord. He said �Come to Me and I will show you great and mighty things, which you did not know�. (Jer 33:3).
