Everyone knows how frustrating it is to encounter a broken link when trying to navigate a
Web Ring. A RingMaster (RM) has two standard "solutions" to this: 1) simply ignore the
problem, or 2) suspend or delete the Ring members whose pages would break the chain.
The RM of The Nanday Conure Ring has decided upon a compromise.
Most of the "bad" links tend to be sites whose authors have difficulty placing the proper
Ring codes on the proper pages. The RM has decided to keep the "noncompliant" links active
so that they can be reached from the Ring Hub Page, but to cut them out of the chain so that
people can easily go through the entire Ring.
The Nanday Conure Ring Help Page has been split up into two pages, and the "noncompliant" sites
in the Ring have been positioned between the two Help Pages. Navigating from one of them to the
other using the specially modidfied WebRing Navigation Bar will skip over the "noncompliant" sites.
Clicking on Next >> from Page 1 will skip over the
"noncompliant" sites, and take you to the next "good" site, which is Page 2.
Similarly, clicking on << Prev from Page 2 will skip
over to Page 1. (Note that you may still reach a "noncompliant" site by clicking on
Random.)
Clicking on Ring Hub on either page will take you to the Hub page, where
you can see a list of the "noncompliant" Nanday Conure Ring members. You can only reach these sites
from the Hub page since they have been removed from the active WebRing chain of sites. The Help Pages
have been specially set up so that clicking on Ring Hub from either of them
will show you a list for which all of the "noncompliant" sites are at the start of the list (all of
the sites up to The Nanday Conure Ring Help Page 2).
