| Candle Safety Never Leave a Candle Burning Unattended! Snuffing - To prevent wax form spraying and wicks from drifting off center, use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Centering Wicks - Wicks in votives and tealights have a tendcy to "float" to the sides. To avoid heating or breaking the container, keep your wicks centered. Children & Pets - Keep children and pets away form burning candles. Surfaces and Holders - Place candles on a flat, even surfaces, at least one foot away from combustible materials such as curtains. Always burn candles in proper candle holders. |
| Candle Care and Usage Trimming Wicks - For clean even burning, trim wicks to 1/4" before each lighting. Burning Times - The first lighting of a bell-top pillar should be for 5 or 10 minutes -- than gradually increase buring time for the next 4 to 5 lightings until the bell-top is gone. Burn pillars, square and 3-Wick candles approximately 1 hour for each inch of the candles's diameter -- long enough each time for the wax to liquify to the edges. Hugging- Round pillar and 3-Wick candles require a small amount of care to burn evenly. After burining for a few hours, gently press the soft wax inward around the edges to maintain a flat surface. Dripping - To avoid dripping, do not place candles near drafts or air conditioners. If dripping does occur, wait for the wax to harden and remove the excess. Beautifying - keep Candles beautiful by rubbing gently with fine mesh stockings to heighten gloss and remove scratches. Avoid Fading and Warping - Do not place Canldes in direct sunlight. Storing -Keep candles in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the sun! Removing Carbon - If carbon builds on wick, extinguish candle, trim wick for clean even burining, re-light. Avoid using in drafty areas. |
