Count
your blessings, name them one by one

When
upon life's billows you are tempest tossed
when
you are discouraged, thinking all is lost
count
your many blessings, name them one by one
and
it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
So
amid the conflict whether great or small
do
not be discouraged, God is over all
count
your many blessings, angels will attend
help
and comfort give you to your journey's end.
The
Blessings of Justification by Faith (Ch 5:1-11)
Because believers are justified
by faith, we have;
1. Peace with God (v 1),
the past,
2. Access into His grace-standing
(v 2a), the present,
3. Hope of the glory
of God (v 2b), the future,
4. Joy in tribulation
(pressures) (vs 3-5a),
5. Love shed abroad in
our hearts (v 5b),
6. The Holy Spirit (v
5c),
7. Salvation from wrath
(v 9),
8. Reconciliation to
God (v 10a),
9. Salvation in (the
power of) His life (v 10b),
10. A boast in God (v
11).
The above list of blessings
underlines the greatness of a faith-justification, versus a struggle to
obtain God's favour by works. How would we ever know of we had done or
paid enough, or of God was sufficiently satisfied if our righteousness
depended on us? But there is an assurance of victory and rest in these
blessings, all because they issue from faith in what Another has done,
even God's beloved Son.
Things
Don't Just Happen
Things
don't just happen to us who love God;
They're
planned by His own dear hand.
Then
moulded and shaped, and timed by His clock.
Things
don't just happen; they're planned.
We don't
just guess on the issues of life,
We Christians
just rest in our Lord.
We are
directed by His sovereign will
In the
light of His holy word.
We who
love Jesus are walking by faith,
Not
seeing one step that's ahead,
Not
doubting one moment what our lot might be,
But
looking to Jesus instead.
We praise
our dear Saviour for loving us so,
For
planning each care of our life,
Then
giving us faith to trust Him for all,
The
blessings as well as the strife.
Things
don't just happen to us who love God,
To us
who have taken our stand.
No matter
the lot, the course, or the price,
Things
don't just happen; they're planned.

Needed The Quiet
"Come

I
needed the quiet, so He took me aside,
Into
the shadows where we could confide,
Away
from the bustle where all the day long
I
hurried and worried, when active and strong.
I
needed the quiet, though at first I rebelled,
But
gentle, so gentle, the cross He upheld,
And
whispered so sweetly of spiritual things,
Though
weakened in body, my spirit took wings
To
heights never dreamed of when active and gay,
He
loved me so gentle, He drew me away.
I
needed the quiet. No prison my bed,
But
a beautiful valley of blessing instead,
A
place to grow richer, in Jesus to hide --
I
needed the quiet, so He drew me side.

Weary, depression and saddened,
the day seemed endless and long,
No joy in my heart for
other, no praise on my lips, no song.
Saved though I am from
judgement, (Jesus had died for me);
Him I confess as my Saviour,
Where then my praise for Thee?
Self for the moment conquers,
pity has spoiled my day;
No time for a portion of
Scripture, not even a moment to pray.
Then came the thought
of His pathway, lonely, unwanted, betrayed,
Scorned and rejected,
tormented, and this by the hands He made.
Shame filled my heart with
contrition, Why should I ever complain?
Love is my portion forever,
and kept in the power of His Name.
Saviour I asked Thy forgiveness,--
comfort, encourage and guide--
In Thy strength only is
safety, draw us then close to Thy side.
Filled with the Holy Spirit,
strength of Thy love for the way,
Thine is a daily Salvation,
guard then and keep us we pray.
God's
Blessings Be With You
God
bless your days with everything
a
rich, rewarding life can bring -
a
joyful heart and love to share,
family
and friends to always care.
God
bless your life with wisdom, too,
strength
to see each problem through,
The
happiness for which you strive,
and
faith to keep your dreams alive.

But it means so much
today.
It means may angel guard
you
And His sunshine light
your way.
God's love surround you,
peace enfold you, never
to depart,

But it comes right from
the heart.
May You Have. . .

Enough trials

Enough hope

Enough friends
to give you comfort,
Enough faith
to banish depression,

to make each day
