This London-based punk-pop trio, Placebo, have  built a huge fan base since they have formed in 1995. A little bit Glam and a little bit fed up, Placebo takes the stage one more time...to dazzle and thrill the kids that have been dreaming of the concert for months.
Once again, the crowd applaudes in aw as the trio leaves the stage after that final encore.

One can only wonder how these three individuals could leave such a lasting inpression in your head that "seems to last for hours...seemed to last for days"!  If you ask a lot of fans they would say that feeling is neverending!

Contained below is the story of how it all began...

Brian Molko, was officially born in Belgium, 10 December 1972,  spent most of his childhood being dragged around from place to place by his father, an international banker, on his quest for more money.  Brian lived in such places as  Luxemburg, Germany,  Liberia, Lebanon,  The United States of America,  and France.  Brian had lived in the United States until the age of 17,  when he decided to pack his suitcase and head off to school.

Studying, at  London's
Goldsmith Drama School, Brian graduates with a degree in  Drama.  Although he had finished school, and was all set to pursue his acting career,  his heart began to lead him down another path.

Brian realized that quite a large portion of his heart was in music. Brian began putting 150% into his music. This was essential, in order to pursue this desire he had to relay the deep emotions, that he was feeling, to anyone who would listen.

Since that day,  Brian had begun collaborating with an old Luxemburg schoolmate. Stefan, being a jock of the past, and Brian, the drama dork at the time, lead Brian to believe they had nothing in common.  Or so he thought. One day, Brian was in a Burger King, in South East London, when Stefan and Brian's lives had crossed paths once again.  Brian had learned that Stefan had been studying music and it became obvious that this could be a really good thing.  Just what Brian was looking for...an accomplice  to accompany him on his quest to dominate the world of MUSIC!

After a while talking,  they had decided to play together to see what could come of it.  The rehearsals had gone incredibly well, so, Brian was sleeping with one eye open ...that so...he wouldn't let the perfect drummer walk right by.

Finally, in 1994,  Brian had met up with a drummer who could possibly fill the spot.  His name was Robert Schultzburg.  And so, the band was formed with the name , Astray Heart.

Although the three piece was and has been complete for some time now, renaming the band Placebo,  Brian was not getting along with Robert very well...sort of faught like cats and dogs.  It was " to the point where Robert and I could not be in the same room with each other for 5 mintues before we were to kill each other", says Brian.

So the search continues...

Brian was a great admirer of Steve's band BREED.  Both, Brian and Stefan, would attend Breed's gigs...
Origionally a long time friend of Stefan's, Steve was in and out of the picture, at that time. Steve, a native Englishmen,  was devoting 99% of his efforts to his band
Breed, and spending the other 1% helping Brian out by playing some live gigs with Placebo.

Steve felt that the with the incredible sounds that Placebo was making ....he couldn't go wrong.  Brian had, many times,  made the offer to Steve , so Steve said goodbye to Breed and hello to Placebo.

Since then, the band has been inseparable...they have become a family.  In 1995, Placebo released their self-titled debut album on Caroline records.  Later, after relentless touring, their second release came along...entitled
Without You I'm Nothing. Next you ask?  More and more touring....the never ending tour...or so it felt to be.

As we have watched this band mature,  they are hard at work to hit us in the face with their third and upcoming album.  Still unentitled, the third is rumered to have a May 2000 release....
