Well, what a fantaastic gig! It was 10 to get tickets but 15 on the door, but it was very much worth it as the gig finished at 2:00am which by any means is definately worth a tenner in my opinion. However, it was 18+ to get in so we thought it would be a challenge for us even to get in, we were very wrong though, we just walked past the doormen on the door (one of them was a homeless person who stands outside the local Body Shop selling the Big Issue) and went straight to the bar! Hurrah! By the time we'd got a pint down us the bands started up. Now i can't remember who was first because i was talking to Kev ( result!) but I can remember that they were quite good, they had a good set of songs and were quite nice. The next band i can remember was the Lost Cherrees who had a female vocalist, they wern't exactly my taste and the girl was a bit shouty but i enjoyed them none the less and wouldn't fault them. One of the main bands i enjoyed was Poundaflesh, ii talk to the guitarist via email and text, well i did until his girlfriend came up to me at the gig and started interregating me, scary stuff!! I felt like i was a drug trafficer or something, but i was pissed so it didn't matter at that point. But, ho hum, they were very good as ever and i got trampled in the mosh-pit with a nose bleed all down the front of my top, lovely! During their set i was having my face engulfed by Kev who was trying to keep me uprightwhilest i was being bashed around in the moshpit, it was offputting to say the least. Conflict were fabbio and i love them to pieces, therefore i bought a t-shirt with all the bands on and the date and location etc. it's actually very nice. I was also in the pit for them as well which is when i brooke my two fingers. Bugger! But yet again, i was reallly wankered so i didn't really mind. Well i did obviously, as i had broke my fingers and anyone would be bothered, but possibly not as much as i would have been if i was sober. I haven't reviewed all the bands, but the Subhumanz were fantastic and i would definately go and see them again. I met one lady who was Canadian and who had come over to go to the gig and there were also people there from France etc. as well. Overall the gig was feckin' fantastic and couldn't have been better, even though i had a nosebleed, broke two fingers abd looked like i had been raped due to the amount of bruises i have accumalated. None the less, it was fantastic and i met many new people and drank lots. Legendary. |
