FC Marching Band Gatorbowl/Disney Trip 2003/2004
On the bus ready to begin our 17 hour journey to Florida...
(l-r) Bryan, Brian, Me, Robyn, Ian, Molly, Nick, Kelly, and Dave
Day 1 - Sun. December 28 2003
The FC Band began their 17 hour bus ride journey down to Jacksonville Florida. After a pizza party and award ceremony of course...lol. The bus ride was...well, long. But entertaining nonetheless. Dave wrote some funny poems that each had a moral...yep. Therefore we somehow ended up with "Hence Moses..." yea, don't ask. Let's see...we got stuck in West Virginia somewhere, and found a bathroom with a "Love Kit" in it in Virginia. Then Megan told me a bedtime story, and we all tried (and failed!) to get some sleep.

Day 2 - Mon. December 29 2003
Woke up somewhere in South Carolina for a breakfast stop. Well, didnt really wake up...more like hobbled off the bus feeling like a zombie. After breakfast, made several more stops along the great east coast of the USA. Finally made it to Jacksonville around 12:30...after playing around in the bus bathroom and watching variuos movies on the bus. Checked into our hotel...our room was SO GROSS. The beds weren't made, and there were wet, dirty towels in the tub. Therefore, our room smelled of bum the whole time we stayed there. Yep. We all then showered and changed out of the clothes we had been wearing for 48 hrs straight, and headed off to Dave and Buster's for a night of fun, food and most importantly...games!!! We stumbled into our rooms around 10:30ish and passed out on our beds from exhaustion.

Megan and I attempt to play the DDR game...we were so bad, we gave up mid-game and just jumped up and down (Megan still won!)
Four of the hottest guys you'll ever meet. Yep. Brian, Dave, Bryan and Nick...
Day 3 - Tues. December 30 2003
Woke up around 6 am to get showered and eat breakfast at the hotel before starting our day. Yep...the first of MANY early mornings. Then we headed off to a local high school to practice our half time show on a football field so we'd be ready for the field show competition. Practice wasn't bad. I must admit it was really cool doing our show amidst palm trees as opposed to the scatterings of snow we're become so accustomed  to up here. We also got a breif glimpse of the other 25 or so bands that were our competition and also joining us for the Gatorbowl. We then headed over to Jackonville Landing, a local shopping mall where we grabbed some lunch and shopped around. Brian discovered a 'Grab a Lobster' game...it was just like those games with the claw where you try to grab a stuffed animal...only this one had real lobsters! And if you got one, the bar next to it would cook it for you. CRAZY!! Then Megan, Robyn and I had a long talk with Mike, our drill instructor about band and lots of other things. I gained so much respect for him. I used to hate him so much during band camp, since he seemed so mean. But he's really a great guy...he just had to be mean in the beginning to gain respect, which makes sense. Then Megan, Robyn and I shopped around and got some pretty jewlery for the Gala dance on New Year's, and Megan bought some bling bling as well. Lol. Nick bought a Hooters shirt whish was really tight...and also a shirt that said "Grandpa's Sidekick" which was made for 18 month olds. Yea...it was quite small. But it was really hillarious. Brian bought a GIANT orange gun thingie that shot air 20 feet. Had some fun with that on the bus.....  Then we headed off to another local high school to compete in the Field Show Competition for the Gatorbowl. The winner of all the bands would get to perform their show before the Gatorbowl, which would be really exciting, so we were hoping to do really well. We competed well, and I think we did awesome!! Megan apparently fell in the middle of the show, but I stand next to her, and didnt notice. But she claims that I'm so short that I was able to cover her...LOL. So after we ate some dinner by the busses we watched the other bands compete. This one band from Marist High school had bench warmers...it was hillarious! Then we finally headed off to our hotel and went to bed after a looong day.
