Kakashi

Kakashi, also known as scarecrows were used by a village to revive dead people by putting their souls into those haymade people. Story is about a girl Kaoru who goes in search of her missing brother Tsuyoshi. A letter from her ex-schoolmate Izumi led her to the strange village with even stranger people. There, she revealed the horrifying secret of the scarecrows coming alive and turned to make a desperate escape with the help of a Hongkonger, Sally.

Though beautifully shot, the story was too slow paced for a horror movie. The weak plot did not help either and I nearly fell asleep at one point(or rather at many intervals). Not much explanation was given tand they continued with the typical "Sadako" lookalike female ghost with hair so long that covered her pale face.

Look out for Grace Ip if you are intending to watch it.

gaozai's short comment:
Director is also the one who directed "Ring O Birthday". Maybe that explains the "Sadako-style ghost".
"Ring" is also quite a slow-paced horror film but "Kakashi" failed to obtain the suspense-effect like "Ring".
I've counted Grace has no more than 20 lines in the whole film.
