Gran's Pixie Slippers
With size 4 needles, cast on 29 sts.  (leave approx:12" tail of wool)
Knit into back of 1st stitch, K8, P1, K9, P1, K8, wool fwd, slip stitch off as purl.
Knit into back of 1st stitch, knit to last stitch, wool fwd, slip stitch off as purl.
Repeat these two rows for 18 ridges, ending with row 1.

Next row: P1, K1, across row.   **
Next row: K1, P1, across row.
Repeat these rows 10 times more.

Rib 7, slip 1, K1, PSSO, K1, K2 tog, rib 5, slip 1,  K1, PSSO, K1, K2 tog, rib 7.
Rib 7, P3, rib 5, P3, rib 7.
Rib 6,K2 tog, K1, slip 1, K1, PSSO, rib 3, K2 tog, K1, slip 1, K1, PSSO, rib 6.

Leave approx: 12 " from end of knitting, and cut wool.
Draw wool through stitches on needle, and slide off needle. Draw wool tight.
Use the "tail" to sew up toe of slipper to row marked **

Use "tail" at start of work to sew up heel of slipper.
