Grand-Mothers Fears

 People may see our years  
 but seldom our tears  
and fears  
As we watch the wee ones grow.  
 We love and nurture  
 the children of our  children.  
 we hope and we pray  
 that the lessons of love  
and kindness  
and honor  
and responsibility  
 will flourish in their lives  
 Forever.  
 We pray Dear Lord  
that they will not be overtaken  
 by the weeds of the world  
 like their parents  
who we once held to our breasts  
and gave the lessons of love  
and kindness  
and honor  
and responsibility  
 We are older  
but are we wiser  
and stronger.  
Can we change the tides  
and keep history from repeating itself
