| Why do I always Give Guys My Peanut butter Chocolate Pie? Anna L. Williams September 20, 1998 (Inspired by the movie The Joy Luck Club) I don't know why I give my peanut butter chocolate pie. I don't know why I believe that I must try. He samples it and wants more And I hand it out, but what for? Perhaps in hopes that one-day I will be adored. Not anything is offered in return to me Save the smile I have created, The smile I have received Maybe sometimes a "thank you", or a slap on the back But never an, "I love you," Or, "You must have put a lot of work into that!" I think all day of ways I can please him Even after the sunlight starts to dim. My desire is to be near him during my free time But when I am with him, I pretend that all is fine. And it seems that he is not aware that love is on my mind. Yet, I still give in hope of something more. But he takes me more for granted, and considers me a bore. I have pondered about him with all my heart, I have meditated about him until it has torn me apart. God knows that this is not how a lasting relationship starts. |
