The Bujinkan is an international martial arts organization based in Noda, Japan and headed by Masaaki Hatsumi. The combat system taught by this organization comprises of nine separate ryuha, or schools, which are collectively referred to as Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. The Bujinkan is most commonly associated with Ninjutsu. However, Masaaki Hatsumi now uses the term Budo (meaning martial way) as he says the ryuha are descended from both historical Samurai schools that teach Samurai martial tactics and Ninjutsu schools that teach Ninja martial tactics.

Bujinkan unarmed and armed movement focus on the efficient use of the entire body (“taijutsu”) to achieve maximum effectiveness. It is not a sport. Rather, training is centered on Jissen Gata or Combat Fighting.
Ninjutsu, or ninpo, is a collection of adaptable survival techniques that allows one to face the uncertainties of life and to respond to dangerous situations through physical and psychological discipline, where one uses orthodox weapons in unorthodox ways.

The depth of training in the Bujinkan is designed to open the eyes of the student to the endless possibilities and potential in all situations. The first levels of training such as leaping, tumbling, proper falling techniques, body conditioning form the basis for taijutsu, these techniques are necessary in order to progress into other techniques such as the use of tools and weapons. Once learned Taijutsu techniques can be applied to any situation, armed or unarmed.

Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu practice doesn't include participation in competitions or contests, as the dojo’s training aims to develop the skills to protect one's self and others. The philosophy of Ninjutsu does not adhere to any guidelines or set of rules to limit action or techniques during training.

Bujinkan Hornsby Dojo, Toukon Bujutsu teaches, under the guidance of Sensei Kalos, the fundamentals of the Bujinkan Dojo in a non-competitive friendly atmosphere where learning comes from the interaction with our peers in the combative arts. The dojo is open to everybody over the age of 14; you do not require any prior knowledge of martial arts or have a specific level of fitness to begin your ninjutsu journey.‏
