That Time Of The Year

Good golly, it's that time of the year
the table before you is full of cheer
That turkey is steaming on it's plate
out of the oven not a minute too late

The biscuits are hot in the wicker basket
children are outside play tisket-a-tasket
Before they play ring-around-the roses
delicious smells has reached their noses

There in their bowls are taters and yams
the guys are watching the Lions and Rams
The ladies are setting plates for them all
tummys anxiously wait to hear them call

There on the counter is pumpkin pie
as everyone passes it catches their eye
After the glasses are filled with wine
mom calls everyone, it's time to dine

Happy Thanksgiving!
