ONE DAY OF FREEDOM
If all the world could have freedom for only one whole day,
what a wonderful day that would be!
If all the world could have love and hear each other say,
"You are my brother, come walk along with me!"
If all the world could see His light and kneel at once and pray,
what kindness and compassion might we see!
If all the world could take a break with never a debt to pay,
what joy would reign without a tax, or tariff, or fee!
If all the world knew freedom, all their weapons they would lay
upon that hallowed ground beneath that sacred tree.
If all the world could have freedom for only one whole day,
that one day of freedom might spark a jubilee,
A forever celebration of thankful rejoicing and play,
when all the world would have freedom, independence, and Thee!
