She Knows
The years have faded.
But the luster of her memory still brilliantly
lingers.
For someone I loved a great deal once.
She knows
As I sit by the kitchen table.
In all of my pain that is upon me.
Without sound ----
her feet caress the floor and she stands to me.
I look out of tearing eyes I cannot control,
and into hers.
With her arms out stretched ----
she cups my head to her breast,
and I encompass her waist.
We are entwined into one.
I am loved.
