Native America Love
Her eyes, wide as a deer's eyes
His, sharp as an eagle's
Her head cast downward
Eyes glittering with unshed tears
His heart guarded by a wall
As strong as a fortress

Can I trust him?
Or should I even try?
Her heart scarred
By deep slashes of pain
Should I believe her
If she says she cares?
His mind invaded
By cold, harsh memories

One step forward
One step back
Both pondering consequences
Both pondering pain
One step forward
One step back
Should they take the chance
Or should they stay away?

Both hearts pounding wildly
They reach for each other
Both shadowed by doubts
They decide to take the chance

They walk together
Through many heartaches
They never walk alone
Their strength
Carrying them forward
Through tears and bleeding hearts

As they finally reach safety
Their hearts overflowing with joy
They whisper, "We made it"
"We can find a way"
