Review
Epotaransu! Mai has cuteness written all over it. Its a funny love story that will capture your heart. Definitely something fans of the Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres mangas will find fun to read.
From the creator of Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres, Yuu Watase wrote this short 2 volume story about the girl trying to win the heart of her crush. The characters were just like the story itself cute and fun. The characters are original, they are far from what you normally get from love story mangas. You have your love struck teenage girl, childish but charming boy, funny but more mature electronic boy, and two girls that pretty much run the show. Basically, an interesting crew to say the least.
The animations I thought werent quite as a good as what we saw previously from Yuu Watase, but still clean and attractive. We saw something new from the artist this time around, the characters all looked different. From Ayashi no Ceres, I found that many of the characters looked the same with different coloured hair, but this time, the characters have different facial features, such as Nimura looking really cute, and Takuma looking older. The animations in this manga werent quite as mature as her last works, but still nothing less then beautiful.
The story was interesting. I mean think about it, give a teenage girl powers, and what did you expect to happen? I dont know how to explain this more then saying its just fun. It doesnt require a whole lot of deep thought, but is just sweet and fluffy. Really makes you fall in love with the characters too.
