Jo doesn’t
like after school activities, but does participate in school plays.
Hobbies: Acting, eating, sleeping, reading, painting, watching TV, playing on the computer, hanging out at Atlantis and Museo Nacional de Arte, or doing whatever her friends want to. She usually eats a lot more and stays in if she gets depressed, she feels it’s a good way out.
Job: Jo has a job at the Cafe de Tacuba. It’s only part time, and it doesn’t pay too well, but she likes it well enough and enjoys watching the Tuesday night music. Not to mention the food she gets to sample and help make. That’s probably her favorite part of the job.
Aspiration: To get to somewhere like Broadway or have her art in the Museo.
Appearance:
General: Pale
skinned and bottom heavy: Jo’s basic look. She gains weight very
easily, mostly because she doesn’t find a point in losing it and doesn’t
take the time to either. Jo is very overweight, especially by the
standards of senshi. She has a large expanse of chest, though, so
that might make up for part of it. She has a slight pot belly to
her, which she dislikes very much having to deal with in the society of
skimpy outfits and tight clothes: she tends to have a completely different
style (to be described in the Dress section). Jo’s thighs are thick,
but with fat and not muscle, her calves aren’t as bad, but still aren’t
the perfect body parts. Her hips are rather wide, and there isn’t
a hint of straight, unbending lines in her outline there, at her shoulders,
or anywhere at all for that matter. Jo also has a sort of lack of
muscle, she never can keep her head up, her back straight, her eyes from
wandering around. When she walks she has a sort of floppiness to
her, her feet look fish-like when she walks, never straight forward or
even facing out, but with a slight inward curve that she never could fix.
She tends to stumble or trip every so often, but it isn’t such a terrible
problem for her.
Face: Double
chinned, Jo has a face that looks romantic to most, sad to some.
She always looks ready to fall asleep, eyelids droopy and large.
Her face is more bottom heavy than top, and her cheeks aren’t hyperly happily
always sprung up, but seem to droop a little, but retain a baby-like quality
to them, an gentle roundness.
Features:
Jo’s deep green-blue eyes are the thing that most people see just about
last in her appearance, but they see them all the same. A sort of dreamy,
half awake look to them, as if she’s always somewhere far away, looking
out into the sky watching her dreams float by in the wind. She has
a small nose that sometimes seems a little buried, especially when she
puts her hands in her face. Her lips are rather full, but, like everything
else, rarely painted up. She usually only paints her face up during
performances and dress rehearsals for plays, but doesn’t really do so otherwise,
it takes too much time. (At least to her.. it takes time away from doing
something else, like reading or eating.. or sleeping.)
Hair: Greasy
wavy light brown hair is what crowns her head and flows down to her shoulder
blades, it is often unkempt and sometimes held up in a bun or ponytail
to be somewhat easier to manage, and it portrays a cleaner image.
But she prefers to let it hang around her, unable to be styled or keep
any certain shape. Jo doesn’t particularly care when her hair gets
cut, or if it ever does, for that matter.
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 230
lbs.
Dress: Jo’s
style is not the popular style, it’s one that seems to vary and move within
its undefined boundaries. She tends to have a sort of theatrical
undertone to it at some points, at others something coming from art or
the far past, but despite all its different origins, Jo’s style still has
an indefinite feel to it. Her style is never hard and edgy and perfectly
cut, it’s loose, to some it would be thought of as slightly carefree, everything
wide or too big. She tends to like loose sweaters, sweatshirts and
coats that hide her full appearance or parts of it that she doesn’t want
people to see. Another group of things common in Jo’s wardrobe are
long skirts or dresses: things that are more bottle-cut and only show the
form underneath when pulled to. She likes her clothes to be able
to be somewhere to retreat to, somewhere where she can move around however
she wants and not feel strained to keep in one place. Her style also
tends to lend itself to layers and miss-matching pieces, as if she couldn’t
take the time to choose things that matched. She also tends to “take on
the role” that is given to her by the clothes she wears, so to speak.
If she wears something very elegant and dressy, she looks like someone
going to a ball; puts on a sweatshirt and sweatpants, she looks athletic
(whether or not she actually is, that’s a different matter.) Her
clothes are often in soft colors, pastels and sea greens and purples, not
hard strong colors like reds and yellows, they’re too harsh for her.
Jo also has a thing with shoes. Like the average girl, she has many
pairs, but each pair reflects a different mood and a different feeling,
and she’ll often change shoes when she feels she needs to be happier or
sadder.
Uniform: Jo
goes to Tohil and therefore wears their uniform of a navy blue jumper over
a light blue blouse. Though she doesn’t like the uniform terribly
much, she wears her jumper to ankles and her blouse long sleeved and light,
but not in any way transparent. She usually wears white ankle socks
and black shiny Mary Janes.
Voice: Jo’s
voice is an alto, and strains on high notes. Her sharp consonants
tend to be softened significantly, her C’s and S’s don’t cut very hard,
they just seem to blend into her tone. Her voice is a little high
for an alto, but not terribly so. She can hit high notes if she tries,
but it’s hard for her and she tends to end up doing them very lightly.
She speaks in a kind of mumbled tone more than a straight out confident
one. Amazingly, she projects lines very well, as if she has to save her
loud voice for acting but the rest of the time is forced to use a mumbled
tone for the rest of the time so that she can conserve it.
Other: Jo
likes to wear jewelry on the occasion, and it always seems to be silver.
She tends to wear necklaces and bracelets more commonly than anything else.
She always wears her henshin ring, though, on her left middle finger.
Personality:
Jo’s personality is far from perfect. She is sensitive, imaginative
and insightful, but also tends to be indecisive, easily swayed and
unrealistic. She has a chameleonic preference to things: if she finds herself
becoming friends with someone who likes racecars and African jewelry, don’t
be surprised to see her enjoying those same things. She just wants
to take their happiness and enthusiasm and feel it too. It gives
her this excellent rush of happiness.
But not that
Jo’s personality just focuses on that, she is extremely sensitive to just
about anything – any sort of clothes she wears, colors, or any emotion
whatsoever wherever. She tends to be able to be described as film on a
camera – very sensitive and will pick up anything, even just a little shadow,
when exposed to it for a second.
When emotions
run too high, colors too bright, or she’s forced into clothes she feels
are too rough or too tight, she runs away. Sometimes she runs to
some bathroom or some corner somewhere, and other times she’ll just slip
into a dream or scuttle only a little ways out of the situation.
But when she feels like she can’t escape at that very moment, she has an
odd tendency to just go unnoticed in the background, as if she were invisible.
She tends
to be attracted to things where she can let her imagination run wild, though,
where she can let emotions go wherever they so choose and whatever she
wants to happen will happen. But she also likes art and finds this
a good outlet of her emotions. She tries to give the gentlest, most
human look to everything, so that it doesn’t hurt her or anyone else.
But another
talent in Jo’s personality is her acute sympathy. When someone suffers
in some way, she can feel it like heat on her, because she’s so sensitive.
She often tries to heal it, because she herself is hurt when others are,
and she knows neither of them wants to be, and therefore tries to help.
Even if many times she’s rejected because she’s unpopular or unliked.
But Jo tends
to show her personality in a different form to most people: a cold, aloof
and sarcastic person, mostly because she doesn’t want to be handled by
the world to make them all feel better, leaving her feeling horrible and
used. She’d rather no one see inside her and be left out of everything
than be used by everyone and never have time to herself.
Social Life: Jo is regarded as an outcast – someone no one wants to be around. Her so-called “weight problem” prevents her from a good social standing, but it’s not like she cares too much. She’d probably get less artwork done and have worse grades had she any friends. She doesn’t care if people like her or not, they can all be subjects for paintings, whether or not they know it or care is their problem, not hers.
Lovelife: Jo is unloved by everyone, it seems, and all because of her appearance. She wouldn’t be able to get a date in high school no matter how many nice people she met, they all wouldn’t want to be seen with her, or “couldn’t” for that matter. Jo doesn’t really act to care, though she is deeply hurt inside that no one loves her, and this is another thing that spurs bouts of depression. She doesn’t have any crushes because she knows they’ll all just turn her down in the end, so there’s no real point to liking them. Jo always wants someone she can cry on and tell things to, someone reliable and strong, but still understanding and caring. But the most important thing to Jo in a partner is someone who respects her for who she is and what she does.
Family: Mother
– Calantha Cocheta (Like a Lovely Blossom That You Cannot Imagine) – Jo’s
mother is someone that Jo envies, but can’t get in touch with any more.
She is always the most gorgeous person Jo knows, no matter how many people
there are in the media; no one comes close to her mother, in her belief.
Her mother looks to be a model some of the time, but often is just overworked,
doing housework or other such things, and in her late 40’s, but Jo still
sees her as a superior, someone she’s not worthy of associating with, almost.
She’s only an inch taller than her daughter, but with her high hung head
and confident air, she feels more like a foot to Jo. Calantha, commonly
referred to by her friends as “Cal”, has dark brown hair that waves gracefully
down to where her neck meets her shoulder line. Her deep blue eyes
are soft, but can turn hard and demanding without a moment’s notice.
Her skin is of a tan, not dark but her skin isn’t close to as pale as Jo’s
is. Cal is determined to keep her family in well being, and not let
them fall into any sort of trouble. Sometimes she doesn’t really
see Jo, mostly because her daughter hides in the shadows of her perfect
family. But she really cares for her daughter, and wishes she wouldn’t
be so depressed all the time and unwilling to stay with the rest of the
family. Her features are very small and quite often painted up, to
give her a bolder statement. Cal is probably one of the few people
who wants to help Jo, but sometimes is too afraid, too proud or too unsure
what it will do to her high (and treasured) social standing. She
tends to have a professional look, and also tends to wear a lot of jewelry.
She loves it that Jo has decided to take up acting and supports that more
than anything about her daughter.
Father – Ebony
Cocheta (Dark Strength That You Cannot Imagine) – Jo’s father, a bright
and happy looking man, but not without a twist. A very lonely man
and someone who just wants the world to stay quiet for a little part of
the time, Ebony, or “Eb”, is a very calm and quiet person, but dislikes
the loudness of the current world. He dislikes all the complications
that life needs now, and wishes he could revert to a simpler, more tranquil
place. His blonde hair and bright green eyes seem something of a
lighter-toned race, but his skin is deeply tanned, almost African-looking.
His hair is cropped to the middle of his neck, and is very fine.
He can see that his daughter is trouble and waits for her asking for help,
but knows he cannot and he will not do anything until she does. Jo
thinks her father to be a cold and uncaring person, but he really is the
opposite. Full of love, he just, like Jo, does not want to spread
it around without good cause. Eb doesn’t want his daughter to be
upset, he wants his whole family to be happy, and the fact that Garrett
is more outgoing with his feelings and needs for help, Ebony tries to keep
him up to happiness while waiting for Jo’s confession.
Brother –
Garrett Love Cocheta (Watched and Loved [More] Than You Cannot Imagine)
– The centre of attention and Jo’s little brother, Garrett kept the family
from paying attention to their other child. Born only 2 years after
Jo, Garret is a bright, happy and outgoing kid, not particularly living
on any dark or unwanted terms. He sees Jo as someone who needs to
smile and loosen up a little, have a little fun, and take some time in
a social spotlight, not let anything hold her back. He doesn’t really
realize his sister’s personality, her sensitivity, and her thought process.
He really dislikes his sister, but not in just the normal sibling way;
he has friends and doesn’t want his social reputation to be ruined by his
monster of a big sister. Blonde hair, like his father’s, is streaked
with his mother’s darker shade; Garret’s eyes a sparkling deep green.
He is the show off of the family, the person who wants everyone to like
him. Jo finds him to be a good person to be related to but is sometimes
jealous of his friends and lower degree of sensitivity. She also
sometimes finds him to be an irritation, someone who can’t live without
noise or movement and is so insensitive that he can’t find the care that
needs to be taken with things. All in all, Garrett is pretty much the complete
opposite of Jo: happy, outgoing, loud and the star of several stages.
Friends:
Keelan Filia
(Lean Friend) – Keelan is Jo’s one and only friend. They are very
close and tend to rely on one another time and time again. The two only
met a year prior, as freshmen. Keelan had no friends and neither
did Jo, and they found themselves sitting at the same mostly empty table.
The two girls didn’t pay much attention to each other, but after a few
days of the same seating pattern, Jo decided to introduce herself to the
other girl, but Keelan took the initiative first and introduced herself
with a smile and a handshake. From then on, they got to know each
other better and better, but don’t share any classes except for lunch and
acting, so these won a great favor over on Jo, even though she liked them
in the first place. Keelan, often referred to as “Key”, is a very
energetic and happy personality, someone that is a significant opposite
of Jo. Outgoing, loudmouthed and always smiling, Key tends to bounce
on her feet when she walks, happy all the time. Her skin is a deep
chocolate brown, her hair a close cut but curly black; her eyes are an
ever-smiling dark blue. Her grin is perfect, her speech rapid
due to her Jamaican decent. She’s a very good friend to Jo and Key
leans on her whenever she’s feeling blue, knowing that Jo likes the color
and is always good at making people feel better when they’re upset.
History:
Jo was
her family’s first child, the one who got experimented on a little more
than Garret. She was the only one that they cared about for the first
two years of her life, the one that everyone seemed to love more than anything
in the world. But when Garret came along, she was no longer the centre
of attention. She sometimes didn’t seem to mind the lack of attention,
but she sometimes also missed it deeply, and she tried to sleep more of
the time until she could find another expression to help her escape from
reality. She loved being in school, especially since it took her mind away
from home, away from her little brother and his nagging voice all the time.
The
older Jo got, the more she found herself drawing, sleeping, hiding in her
room and hiding in the kitchen. She found herself diving into food,
it seemed to fill her hunger, satisfy a need she had. She loved the feeling
of completeness and only found herself eating more. Her parents dismissed
it as “She’s just growing,” but Jo was getting more and more obese as time
went on.
Jo had
had several friends as a kid before she made eating one of her solutions.
But now that she was overweight, her friends started to become fewer and
fewer until there were none at all, and this is by the time that she was
in 7th or 8th grade. She was going into puberty, the time where overeating
would normally start, but that had already taken its toll on her and she
fell into a very severe depression. She tried to dig her way out
through food again, but that only seemed to make the hole deeper.
She went on to high school, thinking the same thing would happen, everyone
would make fun of her over her weight, she’d have no friends. The
first part had succeeded on the very first day, but the second half of
her prediction was a lie. She had not known it when she sat down
at that lunch table, but she was about to make a friend she’d keep for
a long time.
But
Jo didn’t really make any friends until a few days later, and so, thanks
to her good companion Depression, she thought she’d never have another
friend her whole life. If everyone hated her so much, maybe she should
do something about it, she thought. She considered it, but just forgot
about it. Why change an image that you’re so comfortable in?
Why conform to some standard that society has set, when all you want to
do is be yourself?
Also
with age, Jo grew into a love of painting and acting over all else.
If she ever felt sad and went to drama, she could play someone happy.
If she was upset, she could indeed be angry, and no one would have to know.
It was just Jo acting out her lines.
Painting
grew into another thing that was good for expression. With all the
different colors, shades and things you can paint, you could always paint
a picture to express your anger or depression or happiness. Jo found
this good also for saying things she couldn’t normally, like how much she
loved the image of her mother, who she does paint a lot.
But
Jo is now very much settled again, happy with her place in the waters of
life, even though they might pull her under and made her sad again.
Fuku: Primary
Color: Green ~ Secondary Color: Golden Yellow
Starting at
the top, Sailor Omacatl’s fuku begins with a black circlet over her forehead
with a green jewel (Autunite just like in her ring). On her ears
are a pair of little golden circles with her symbol etched into them, not
dangling. Across her neck is a choker composed of little round, black
stones all the way around her neck, without any sort of clasp. The
top piece of the fuku looks like a weird bra, a black tube top around the
breast, four yellow straps over the shoulders, two on each side, cutting
off at the tube top, and a broach in the centre of a bow atop the black
tube top. The broach is mostly black, and a circle, but has a circular
green gem (again with the Autunite from the ring and tiara) in the centre.
Off of the double yellow straps flow long green sleeves, tight at the shoulders
but widening slowly afterwards, there is a strip of yellow at the end of
those as well. Continuing on to the next part of the fuku, which
(much to Jo’s dislike) leaves Sailor Omacatl’s midsection exposed.
The skirt starts with a band of black, which holds the large yellow bow
on in the back. After the band of black the color shifts back to
green and is so throughout the whole miniskirt. (Jo’s least favorite
word in that sentence: mini.) As for shoes, Sailor Omacatl has knee-high
(to the top of the knee) boots with a zipper only a third of the way down,
with yellow strips running around the top of the boot and around the zipper,
which itself is gold. The boots have a slight heel to them, but the
heel is thick to support her weight and make it easier for her to run.
Henshin Phase: Omacatl Mictlan Power Make Up!
Symbol: Sailor Omacatl’s symbol is an ear of corn. It looks like a pair of parenthesis put together [ () ] and with a tilted tic-tac-toe grid in the middle. Outside of the ear is a slight leaf, like two parenthesis of the same kind beside each other [ )) ], the inner one actually the side of the ear of corn, tapering in at the edges to that it touches both the top and bottom of the ear.
Henshin Ring: Jo’s ring is a gold band with a stout cylinder of Autunite in the top centre with her symbol cut out from it. The gold surrounds the side and bottom edges of the Autunite, but doesn’t touch the top. The crevices from the cut aren’t filled in. Jo wears her henshin ring at all times, and it is always on her left middle finger. (If you need a picture of Autunite, please follow this link: http://members.aol.com/cyrtolite/MinPhot/Images_1/Autunite.JPG)
Henshin: Jo cries out her henshin phrase, punching her fist up into the air. As soon as she does so and brings her arm down, she is covered in a yellow light while the area around her is green. She releases her fist and throws her arms back as her ring slips off of her finger and slides over to the middle of her chest. The gem in the centre of the band flips over, revealing a plain side and then lowers into her chest as a yellow light flashes, making the gold around the gem disappears while around it has formed a doughnut-like piece of green light. A yellow light flashes and the doughnut is suddenly real, and a bowtie noodle has appeared underneath in green light. Flash! And the noodle is real and even cooked, but the tube top has made itself clear in it’s green-light taffy, and with another flash it becomes real as the straps are developing. The straps, the green-light bacon they are, turn real after another flash and those are real, the green candy necklace forming as her choker. Flash! The sixth part of her fuku done, the seventh, her earrings, turned gumdrops have started their formation. Her head folds down, her arms are still out, almost as if she’d been crucified, and another flash of light her tiara forms out of green-light licorice, and another and her tiara gem forms in the shape of a cheesy poof. Flash! Her sleeves form out of tortillas, even the strip at the bottom, and in another flash, they’re real and she brings her arms up over her chest. Her skirt roll forms from three french fries (two form the V in front, one straight in back), and in a flash they’re real, and the back bow is another, larger bowtie noodle, again cooked. As the light flashes once more, her back bow becomes tangible as her skirt forms out of – what else – crackers. She pulls her knees up to her chest, hugging them, as the next light flashes and her boots form from banana peels. In this fetal position, she’s still got yellow light covering her as the green from behind her curls around and forms a sort of pod around her, the background is now black. A few flashes of light emit from the top of the pod as she pushes the sides of the pod all out, with her hands and feet all spread out and pushing as it explodes out. Her face lowers and she’s got a smile on her face as she moves into her final pose: sitting in the air, as if there were a chair under her, turned slightly to the right, hugging her right knee, face looking straight out with a smirk across her face. The background ends black with green across it in a random pattern, yellow edging the whole place.
Weapon (if one): A giant spork made out of unbreakable chocolate. That’s right: Not a spoon, not a fork, a spork. The points aren’t very sharp on it and it can have bites taken out of it, if anyone so chooses to bit the spork that is most likely trying to hit them over the head. The spork does not melt unless left out in a constant sunlight for a long time. To put it very simply, it’s just a giant chocolate spork, which is what it looks like. It has the handle of a plastic fork, knife, spoon or spork and is a chocolate brown color, and is made of milk chocolate. Sailor Omacatl frequently uses this to smack people over the head or attack them physically. The points on the spork are very dull and they won’t really do anything but annoy people.
Attacks:
Attack 1:
“Glutton’s Curse!” – Makes the victim very hungry. Sailor Omacatl
holds the giant spork with her right hand as her left hand misses to the
front, misses to the back, and finally grabs the spork as well. She holds
the spork a little closer to her, and then slices the air in front of her
twice: first right to left, second left to right. She then chooses
her victim and puts the spoon part of the spork over their head and whispers
“Glutton’s Curse!” to the spork and the victim suddenly becomes very hungry
and often deserts the battle looking for something to eat. Omacatl tends
not really to discriminate as much on this attack, it mostly gives her
a good laugh. This attack doesn’t really do much to Jo, but can be
dodged if the victim is not unsuspecting and moves out of the way before
the spork comes over their head. The one way to alleviate this attack
is for the victim to get something to eat and, well, eats it. Size
and quantity don’t matter.
Attack 2:
“Deadly Doughnut!” – The infamous “Giant Doughnut” attack. Sailor
Omacatl grabs her broach and pops the gem out of it with one hand, catching
it in the other while the black “doughnut” sits on her fingertip.
She whirls the black circle until it gets bigger and bigger, as soon is
large enough to fit someone through (depending on the senshi’s weight the
amount of spinning will vary.) When the doughnut is big enough, Omacatl
calls out “Deadly Doughnut!” and throws the giant doughnut – chocolate
frosting and glazed, all on vanilla doughnut – at her victim, which is
only allotted to be one person per doughnut. The doughnut slowly
gets larger and disperses, but not without covering the victim in gooey
chocolate and glaze. As the doughnut shrinks, it appears back around
her gem and when fully restored to the broach, can be placed back in its
proper place. But back to the victim: at this point, the victim must lick
or be licked to avoid the final stage of this attack. If after a
30 second period the glaze and frosting is not removed from the body in
some way shape or form, the parts of the body which still DO have glazing/frosting
on them will go into a state of paralysis. People tend to have a
harder time escaping this attack, but it does tend to weaken Omacatl from
the throwing and arm work it takes to spin the doughnut, and therefore
has a limited supply of times this attack may be preformed. Her attack
can be destroyed if the doughnut is destroyed while spinning, in flight,
or around the victim. Do note that it must be destroyed with more
caution and faster when around the victim, if they take too long, frosting
will have to be removed.
Challenge Phrase:
“Don’t take another step unless you want to be creamed spinach! I am Sailor
Omacatl, Senshi of Gluttony! I will eat you up.. and spit you out!”
When and if
she wants to say it, that is.
Strengths: Jo can consume mass amounts of food in a very short time. If you want an eat and run, she’s willing to do all the eating faster than you can run. Another thing about Jo is that she has been known for her art, and enjoys doing art of things people don’t normally look at, don’t pay attention to (such as herself, who people tend to want to ignore). Jo isn’t a very optimistic person, but she can make you see the best of things through her pessimism. She also tends to make people appreciate what they have. Jo also has a very good understanding of other people and their emotions and feelings and is sensitive to them, helping her rectify a situation before it starts, sometimes.
Weaknesses: Jo tends to rely heavily on food, and doesn’t do well when she doesn’t have much around, she can’t live without several snacks every day. Another thing is that she tires very quickly, her heart is overworked as it is, but it doesn’t do well under heavy strain. She doesn’t do very well when pressured into doing things, or given specific orders that don’t allow her any creativity with her work, in any place. Jo is also very pessimistic and tends to worry a lot when people confide things to her that involve some level of worry in the normal person. She is also very vulnerable when it comes to being used, and though she doesn’t like it, can be easily overtaken by things like people, drugs and alcohol. She prefers to stay away from these things so she doesn’t have to deal with the influence of them. She is terribly sensitive to others and this can be a downfall as well as a strength.
Guardian: Jo has no guardian. She probably wouldn’t give enough time and consideration to it, or would have overfed it and killed it by now. Either way: not a good plan.
Writing Sample:
Jo awoke
to the sound of quiet and calm. She smiled softly as she rose from
her bed, shed her nightgown and put on one of her blue blouses and pulled
over her the navy blue jumper. She pulled her tea-stained curtains away
from the window, shedding a bright light all over her room. Jo shielded
her eyes for a moment before going to her dresser and running a brush through
her hair several times.
Going
downstairs and into the kitchen, she began to fix herself breakfast, which
always seemed oddly small to Jo. Nonetheless, she made herself a
waffle and a glass of orange juice, eating the waffle plainly with her
hand while drinking her orange juice. When she finished, she put
the glass into the sink and walked out into the living room, plopping herself
down on the couch. She looked around the room for a minute before grabbing
her purple backpack and leaving to walk to school. She didn’t feel
like dealing with her family this morning, they seemed to annoy her at
the moment.
She
walked down the sidewalks, going past this shop and that, not caring about
anything, or that’s what side she showed. Inside, she watched the
drunks from the night before being turned out on the street. She
moved out of the way of them, scared of them, scared that one day she could
become one of them had she the lack of willpower to stay away from bottled
alcohol one day. One day and there would be no turning back, she’d
just be into it and not be able to get out. She knew that she was
vulnerable to drugs, and didn’t want anything to with them.
She
continued walking, at a slow pace as she passed a couple at a cafe, chatting
