Personality:
Mae is overly honest with everyone on everything, she does a positively
horrible job of lying. She always has her way of getting out of scrapes
one way or another, always out smiling bright as could be. She doesn’t
always know where she’s going or how she’s going to get there, but she
always ends up in just the right place to be. She is usually smiling,
but also falling over her own two feet half the time. She never did
have an easy time walking on flat ground... Mae’s dominating side to her
personality is cheerfulness and a ‘let’s go!’ attitude. She could
be a cheerleader -- if she really wanted to.
Appearance:
Eyes:
Light brown, large and kind-looking, as if almost puppy-dog like.
Hair
Color: Light brown
Hair
Style: She usually wears her thick, mid-back hair up in a ponytail or just
down when she’s in a hurry to get somewhere. She has no bangs. Her
hair is very sleek and glossy, that sometimes causes a problem with the
ponytail. Her hair grows quickly and doesn’t tend to fall out at
all. It’s very thick and long; it has had a tendency for good growth
ever since she was a child.
Height:
Very tall for her age, Mae is about 5’8”.
General:
Mae comes off with a long, graceful air about her. That is, until
she starts moving around. When she grew so rapidly at a young age,
she seemed to lose the coordination she’d learned. She had a hard
time walking around, and having anything to do with a sport, cheerleading
or dance was absolutely out of the question. Mae usually has a somewhat
wide stance, almost trying not to fall over. Her limbs are all long,
especially her legs, which would be good for running as soon as she masters
walking. She holds he head high, except when walking out of doorways,
so as not to smash her head into them. Her movements are significantly
loose and disjointed, as if she doesn’t know where to put the one foot
in front of the other.
Dress:
Very relaxed. Mae tends to wear loose cargo pants, preferably khaki-colored,
along with a loose deep navy blue or purple shirt, long or short sleeved
depending on the season. Mae also wears a watch a significant amount
of the time, making sure she doesn’t miss anything important. She
often has her deep indigo backpack somewhere nearby; full of reading books,
knickknacks and whatever else she happened to pick up on her way around
town.
Face:
Mae’s face is a bit more ovular than most, longer than most. She
holds her head a bit low but her face often reflects an image of helplessness
or joy. Her nose is firm and her mouth is somewhat large, seeing
as she’s always smiling and often making conversation as well. Her
face could be compared to that of a horse, but when you look at her neck
as well as her face, people often call her a giraffe. Her cheeks
are often flushed from either running around or being embarrassed at falling
over so much.
Family
& Friends:
Mother:
Ummi Okapi (Mother of an Animal with a Long Neck). Ummi has deep
brown hair; tied up in a loose bun at the back of her head and brown eyes
so dark you can barely distinguish the pupils. Her face is more rounded
and she tends to have a quiet, gentle smile on her face more times than
not. She encourages her daughter to do what she wants in life because
Ummi herself never truly had one. She dropped out of high school
early to be a homemaker for her husband. She prefers to hide any
pain she has and forget about it with a smile.
Father:
Zaci Okapi (Godly Father of an Animal with a Long Neck). An older
man, Zaci met his wife a few years after he graduated college. He
has short yellowed hair with a streak of white running diagonally from
an inch past the middle of his face, to right side and it runs down to
where his hair ends at the nape of his neck. His expression is more
often than not stoic and his face is very slim. A pair of black eyeglasses
adorns his face and brings out his green eyes, accenting them to a bit.
He is a stern man and doesn’t often tolerate humor from anyone. He
does his job quickly and efficiently and doesn’t get distracted easily.
He’s rather stubborn in his opinions and you can’t convince him to think
differently than he already does unless you have many good answers.
Siblings:
None.
Pets:
Due to the fact that her father is allergic to pet hair, Mae does not have
any real living pets, though she enjoys sitting for other people’s.
The closest she’s got is an excessively large collection of stuffed animals.
She loves them all, but her giraffe’s her favorite.
Friends:
Maik Iphigenia (Now’s Mythological Creature) – A very sporadic girl, Maik
is one of Mae’s close friends due to their shared love of animals.
Though Maik loves those of long ago, Mae loves the ones of now but still
likes the old ones as well. Maik has mid-back length black hair,
a deep black complexion and surprising green eyes. She is typically
more of a depressed, study-absorbed personality, but sometimes finds a
place in her schedule to have fun. She comes from a very low-class
family and works hard to make sure she’ll be able to support her family.
Love
Life: Mae has no love life, she isn’t particularly seeking and she doesn’t
honestly see what anyone would see in her. She sees herself as a
big, flopping, tall klutz who somehow manages to pull it all together in
the end. She doesn’t see anyone liking her in any romantic way...
Lives:
Mae lives in an apartment in the Pine Center district. Her room is
painted indigo and all her sheets are of that color scheme. Her comforter
has a large purple paisley pattern on it, her pillowcases match.
Her bed is a canopy. She has a wooden desk on one side of her room
which is covered in papers, clothes and things she’s picked up while ‘around.’
She has several giraffe and rhino things in her room, well, quite a few.
She has a large stuffed rhino that sits on her bed, waiting for her.
She has lots of bags around as well, filled with all sorts of her things.
Her main color schemes are brown and purple, but more purple.
Transformation:
“Kanich Imperium Power Make-Up! “
Mae raises
her hand, a white paw print appearing on her hand. The white light
quickly spreads over her body, engulfing her in a white light that turns
indigo as it spreads to her feet, so that there’s a gradient across her
body from top to bottom. As the light traveled down her body, Mae
lifted her hands up above her head like a diver. She flies them down
to her side like a ballerina would and with her palms upturned puts her
hands onto her chest. The white light shines out and she separates
her hands, showing her broach. In indigo light, the bow flutters
out and ties itself, and then brown light forms her scarf, a stripe of
indigo on the edge. In white light her bodice and shoulder puffs
blink into existence. She dips her hands down to her feet and when
she lifts them, they’re covered in an almost dripping brown light and as
she touches where her skirt should be, the gloves have appeared.
The silver piece dividing the skirt from the bodice comes from the back
around into the front as silver and buckles in the front, and when it does
her symbol implants itself in the centre. The skirt forms itself
in indigo light with a strip of brown light on the bottom. Brown light
rushes up her legs to form her boots, zipped all the way up and the light
flows down off to make them tangible, the flap is made open as the indigo
inside is shown. Her symbol, on a small button flies toward her neck
as brown ribbon threads itself through the hole in back (unseen.)
The ribbon and button fall onto her neck and wrap around, button in front
and at the back the ribbon melds together so there is no break in the fabric.
The gem of her tiara appears on her chest and the silver of the tiara comes
out from it. Spinning to show off her fuku, Kanich lands in a pose
with her hands in a claw-like pose, winking with her feet apart (wide but
not very).
Uniform:
Primary
Color – Leather Brown
Secondary
Color – Deep Indigo
Gloves:
Archer’s gloves, brown leather, rougher side out.

Mid-thigh brown leather boots, again the rougher side out, flap on top
cut at zipper revealing an indigo inside.

Symbol: A brown circle with a paw print cut out.
Element: Animals
Powers:
“Kanich
Creature Arrow!” – Sailorkanich takes one of the arrows from her quiver,
and knocks the arrow as she says ‘Kanich’. She raises her bow and
draws the string back, yelling ‘Creature,’ as what looks to be an eagle’s
head forms in brown light around the head of the arrow. When she
yells ‘Arrow!’ she fires it, and with the speed of an eagle, the arrow
flies to wherever Sailorkanich aimed. If the arrow doesn’t hit, sometimes
Kanich will concentrate on it and let the eagle’s spirit gain wings and
follow the person for a short distance. This attack can sometimes
kill monsters, but more often than not can only give them wounds.
This attack drains little of her power, but does a more heavy blow to her
if she tries harder to keep the attack going.
“Bestial Instinct!” – Sailorkanich takes an arrow out of her quiver and shouts ‘Bestial!’ She knocks the arrow and shoots it, shouting ‘Instinct’ as it flies. As soon as the arrow lands, (must be in/on small inanimate, person, or even an animal if that happens...) the arrow’s wood becomes like a quivering piece of rubber and melts onto the victim, leaving them with a brown spot where the arrow hit. When it melts, they go into an almost trance-like state and begin to act like one or more animals, attacking the enemy of Sailorkanich or sometimes whatever’s in range. This attack uses a fair amount of Sailorkanich’s power, and can kill a monster if they are being attacked by the person/thing Sailorkanich has released the attack on. To rid the victim of the attack of their behavior, someone must remove the brown melted wax-like material from whatever was hit.
“Birds of a Feather! (Flock Together!)” – ‘Birds!’ Sailorkanich cries this and holds her hand up, a single feather dropping into them as she says ‘Of A.’ She takes the feather in her right hand and makes a z-shape in the air with it, and then throws it up. ‘Feather!’ she calls this out and the single feather explodes into a number of birds, quite uncountable, many either brown or violet, others their normal colors. The birds follow Sailorkanich’s will on whom to attack, and do so relentlessly. No more birds come, but the number is quite irritating to get rid of and they might chirp loudly in your ear or peck at you or various other things. The attack does a significant amount of draining to Sailorkanich, but she can still attack afterwards. This attack can kill a monster more often than not, just because the sheer number of the birds and all of them attacking at once is hard to dissipate.
“Creature of Assailment!” – Sailorkanich holds her hand up high and cries ‘Creature of!’ She pulls an arrow from her quiver and uses the point to draw a circle in the air, making a tear. When she’s done she cries ‘Assailment!’ and out comes a creature (whatever she wants) from the tear in a swirl of brown and indigo energy, swirling and shifting. This creature can attack anything Sailorkanich commands it to; sometimes it attacks persons on its own free will, not minding its master. This attack can kill a monster very easily, but drains Sailorkanich very much so she cannot use it very often in battle without harsh effects coming back at her.
Items: Sailorkanich has a bow called the Creature Shot, also carrying a quiver with it. The quiver has an endless supply of arrows, but at any point in time it only looks like there are five or six. The quiver is once again brown leather and the bow itself is curved wood, polished to a dark brown with a leather holding piece. The string is almost goldish, it has been browned.
History:
On Earth:
Born to Ummi and Zaci, Mae was a cheerful child that always seemed to be
taller than everyone else all the time. She often hit her head on
playhouse doorframes and things, and fell and tripped a lot, sometimes
getting other people messy in the process. She never really minded
getting dirty, but she’d get yelled at by the other children that she needed
to learn to walk right and not funny like she did. Her parents and
teachers would yell at her when she fell in mud and things, by accident
to her, but on purpose by them. She was one of the only children
they knew who preferred being messy and running in the woods while it rained
and things to being clean, warm, and dry at home. She tried to conform
to things when she was in third grade: do the trendy things, wear the trendy
clothes, walk right and play with her dolls. Of course it didn’t
last long and she eventually just tore it all up and threw it out, going
back to her closet and taking out her grass-stained mud-ridden clothes.
As Mae got older, she tended to go out more and more, walking everywhere
and finding things on the ground that she liked, wandering anywhere and
everywhere. The older she got, the more she found an interest in
sports. She found herself falling over in most sports, but she found
one that she could stand perfectly still and she didn’t have to run and
fall all over in: archery. As soon as she found the sport, she fell
in love with it and couldn’t leave herself to be far from it. She
bought her own bow and quiver and a healthy amount of arrows and enjoys
driving to places to practice. Some say she must have a natural instinct
to do something so well. Mae still lives with her parents, but can
drive and does so often. She has a job at Sears, helping people with
finding things and trying to use the cash register. She tries hard
not to screw it up, the customers often know what they’re doing and she
is still hanging around some of the more experienced employees, for help
and learning purposes. She’s had the job for a while now... she can’t
remember exactly how long, though. She would rather have a job at
Pet-cetera, but the commute to Sears is better than to Pet-cetera, though
she hopes someday to work around animals and have some of her own.
Previous
to Earth: Before Earth, Sailorkanich traveled around the galaxy with the
rest of the Lumina Senshi and was always the one who would visit the places
where the animals roamed, be it zoos or forests. She was almost always
seen in the company of an animal and often seemed to know what they were
saying. She always connected with one animal especially in each life,
but this life she has been just about forbidden by fate to be with an animal
all the time, due to her father’s allergy. She sometimes wishes she
could go back to another life but knows that the battle now is more important
than the old ones.
