Scale: 1-12
+ i would like to take this time to tell you that you need to read Vurt by Jeff Noon- the greatest book EVER written, thank you
+ The Leper's Companions By Julia Blackburn: 9.004
Ok, well, this book had me hooked at first. It was weirdly beautiful and I kept thinking "this would make an awesome movie". However, about half way in it lost me, I had no desire to go any farther, but I guess I felt obligated. It just lost all that it had going, and occationally it would pick it back up, for a sentence or two, but it would quickly dissipate again. It almost seemed like the author just stopped caring. Sad really.
+ Abhorsen By Garth Nix: 11.478
My love for Garth Nix is undying. Yes, he is technically a "young adult" author- but that characterization does nothing for him, nothing! The whole concept of his books is what makes them so amazingly great- you have never, ever read anything like them- I promise. I cannot describe their uniqueness and beauty, and so I won't even try. But if you're like me and desperatley need something interesting to read, anything, anything by Garth Nix (wellllll.... there are a few little chapterbook things for really young people that I would avoid, but other than that...) will blow you away. And Abhorsen did a wonderful job of tying his previous books together, yay! Although, don't you hate it when your favortie  character dies?!?

Stalking TenderPrey By Storm Constantine: 3... flat
I couldn't even finish this one. It was that terrible. The story was interesting, I suppose, but Constantine seemed WAY too interested in writing cool sex scenes than developing the characters, or plot for that matter, it just kinda rambled on and on and on until I had to throw it across my room in DISGUST!

+
The Wraeththu Trilogy by Storm Constantine: 10.312

The only reason these books score this high is because of the first one, The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit, is amazing. Gorgeous, and perfect, and the whole time I was reading it, I was completely in awe of the general greatness of the story. I was in love! And then the second book... well, its interesting, not as well written nor does it have the emotional aspect that I liked in the first one. And The Fufillments of Fate and Desire, ack!!! I hated this book! The story Constantine had going was wonderfully origanal and enthralling, and then it all just sort of crashes into a cheesy fantasy. Tisk Tisk.

When Worlds Collide and its sequel After Worlds Collide by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer: 9.34

An interesting story only because of the fact that it's a spacey piece of sci-fi written in the '30s before that kind of thing got to be cliche. A classic, none the less. (Interesting side note: You know that song called "When worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000? Appearantly its based on a cheesy 1951 film version of the book. I love this song....)

+ Tonguing The Zeigeist by Lance Olsen: 11.569

I love this book! Its set in the future, everyone has neon eyes and awesome hair, and the main character is a porn salesman turned rock god ^-^

+
The Wildwood by Charles de Lint: 11.356

Its a beautiful story, gorgeous imagery. Its really cool though beacause it was written around a set of paintings done by Brian Froud (you know, the guy who made all the creatures in the Dark Crystal). I would give it a 12, but its set in Canada.
