So you wanna try your hand at PvP, huh? Well, don't go about it blindly. Make sure you know what you're getting into before smashing that stone. There are really only two benefits to going PvP. One is that the stat boosts you can get from it are far better than any other stat boost in the game. The main reason for fighting others, though, is simply because it's another contest in the game.

PvP comes at a price. Cons to PvP should be considered. Others will attack you, and they'll win. Stat losses from PvP are far worse than anything else in the game. It's pretty disheartening to watch your stats dwindle away as other players constantly beat you. Keep this in mind. It can get expensive, too, if you do it right.

Here are some tips and tricks that all the successful PvP players know.
  • Drink up to your max first. One of the contests compares drunkenness.
  • Don't attack players with the same main stat. Seal Clubbers shouldn't hit other Seal Clubbers or Turtle Tamers.
  • Check the PvP win/loss ratio of your intended victim. People lose for a reason, and people win for a reason, too.
  • Keep up your lesser stats. Disco Bandits should keep their Muscle and Mysticality in line with their Moxie. Use the moon phases to help you with this. And never work on our prime stat in the gym.
  • Once you've completed the day's adventures, drink again. You'll be falling down drunk, but the adventures you gain will rollover into the next day, and you'll be better defended against a drinking contest. (They can't attack you if they're falling down drunk, like you are.)
  • Use a potion of temporary gr8ness. This is a must. It doubles your stats. And make sure you drink one before logging off for the day, in case someone attacks you.
  • Keep track of who you lose to. Make sure you don't attack them again.
  • Don't attack the same person twice. Once you attack, they might retaliate. Leave it at that. Attacking multiple times creates a grudge match, and if they're well connected, they'll ask their clan for help, or look for PvP assassins in chat. Besides, Jick has a rule agianst making the game unfun for other people.
  • Check the inventories of your intended victim. A Disco Thief wearing three rings of Boris might not be the best victim for a Turtle Tamer. And Mr A's are always worth noting.
  • Use the moon phases to your advantage. I use them for my secondary stats, but never for my prime stat.
  • PvP is always best right before you gain a level, and always bad right after you do. If you've just gained a level, be careful who you pick on, because they've all been at that level a little longer than you.
  • Be a good sport about winning and losing. It's just pixels on a screen after all.
  • Don't attack me. :)
