20th Century Fox's foray into

"the world of tomorrow"!!

After the success of The Simpsons, creator Matt Groening decided to look to the future for his next creation,

to be precise, 1000 years into the future, and into the world of Fry, the pizza delivery boy who's going nowhere

fast, and who gets caught up in a practical joke on New Years Eve 1999, and ends up falling into a stasis machine

which freezes him for 1000 yrs. He wakes up on New Years Eve 2999, and is greeted by the new world!!

Needless to say, he doesn't like it much, and after being forced into taking up the job of a delivery boy

(again!) by Employment Co-Ordinator Leela (a one-eyed female Cyclops alien), he runs away and after

finding nothing to do, decides to kill himself, where he meets a suicidal, alcoholic android called Bender,

who become great friends...... soon after they are both caught by Leela and her staff. Seeing as Fry

is so unhappy with the prospect of becoming a delivery boy again, she helps him find his only living relative,

Professor H J Farnsworth, a senile, ancient inventor, who offers Fry, his new friend Bender and Leela jobs in

his intergalactic delivery company, where they also meet Amy, the Asian girl, who's always looking for a good time,

Dr. Zoidberg, an alien lobster look-a-like, who is the company doctor, and numerous other characters, including

a rastafarian accountant, and NOT the weird outerspace potato man as Fry mistakes him for!

Rapidly replacing The Simpsons in popularity, certainly in my opinion, this series is superb and full of subtle

(and not so subtle) gags at the expense of others, with some very tongue in cheek homour, and often full of

innuendo - GREAT!! All, I can say, is watch it and enjoy!!
