The Prophet (pbuh) once gathered all the people of the Quraysh near Mount Safa and asked them, "O Quraysh! If I say that an army is advancing on you from behind the mountains, will you believe me?" All said in one voice, " Yes, because WE HAVE NEVER HEARD YOU TELLING A LIE." All the people of Makkah without any exception swore to his truthfulness and honesty, for he had lived an unblemished and extremely pious life among them for 40 years. Yet most of them arrogantly refused to accept him as the Messenger of Allah. The Holy Prophet said,   " O people of Quraysh! I warn you to fear God's punishment. Save yourself from the fire. My position is the same as that of the sentry who sees the enemy from afar and warns his people of the danger of their enemies. Does such a person ever lie to his people?"

    Finally if one still has doubts about the best of all creation, then one should logically analyze his achievements. Could an immoral person or evildoer achieve such heights? His success is an indicator of his sincerity and devotion and I hope you will also consider all that I have mentioned about him.
Character
    Words cannot describe the nature of the greatest human being of all time. However, where we falter in conveying the message, we put our trust in Allah and his perfect words.
    In the Quran, Allah states :
21:107 And We have sent you (O Muhammad) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

    Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) describes himself by the following words "I was only sent to perfect good character." (Bayhaqi, As Sunan al Kubra)

    Once Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her), one of the wives of the prophet, was asked concerning the character of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and she answered, " Do you not recite the Holy Quran?" When the people replied that they did, she then said "His blessed character is the Holy Quran"

     This in itself is a proof that the application of the Quran can make us achieve stages close to perfection within our limited abilities.
