| Mathematics has evolved into something extremely potent and powerful. Does the Quran have anything to do with Mathematics? The short and simple answer is yes. Since the Quran is the miracle of miracles, its message is universal and transcends time. Below are a few mathematical occurences in the Quran. The word day occurs in the Quran 365 times, the world�s revolution around the sun takes 365 days. The exact number 365 is not accidental! The 59th verse of the sura The Family of Imran, points to a similarity between Adam and Jesus. There is no other comparison like that between any other two prophets in the Quran. How many times are these prophets� names used in the Quran? In equal number, exactly 25 times each. The verse that points to the similarity between Jesus and Adam is given below: [3:59] �Verily, the likeness of 'Iesa (Jesus) before All�h is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: "Be!" - and he was� The word sea (bahr) is used 32 times in the Quran. The word bahr is used both for the sea and other waters like lakes and rivers. The word land (barr, yabas) is used 13 times. If we calculate the ratio of 32 to 45 the result is 71.111%. You may look up in any encyclopedia in the world and see that the sea cover 71% of the earth whereas the land covers 29% of it. It is really an interesting miracle that scientific and the Quranic ratios of the lands to the seas are exactly the same. Some chapters of the Quran are initialled with letters of the Arabic alphabet. These mysterious initials have baffled Muslims for centuries. Recently, a mathematical explanation was proposed for these letters. There is a verse in the Quran that states that over it are nineteen (referring to guardians of hell). Nineteen is a number very common in the Quran. The opening verse of the Quran is "In the Name of All�h, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful." The frequency of the word name or ism is exactly 19, Ar Rahman is 19 x 3, Ar Raheem is a multiple of 19 (19 x 6) . There are 114 chapters in the Quran (19 x 6), the first chapter in order of revelation consists of 19 verses. Chapter fifty is titled Qaaf, the letter Q. The frequency of Q is 19 x 3 = 57, The same thing is in Chapter 42, one of its initials at the beginning is Q and the frequency of Q is 57 (19 x 3).
