W H Y
Why did I choose to build a shrine for the Yuugiou Yamis? Well.. I absolutely ADORE them! They're my favorite characters out of the anime. Then why Yuugiou? I love the series, and I think the plot is actually pretty interesting.
I would have made a shrine dedicated COMPLETELY to the anime, but I didn't want to work that hard ^_^;. So I decided to dedicate a site to what really persuaded me to watch... THE YAMIS!
The Yamis are a darker, more violent, ego to the Hikaris. What are Yamis and Hikairs? 'Yami' means 'Dark' in Japanese, and 'Hikari' means 'Light'. In the anime, there are certain people who have two personalities. Their main personality is kind and generous (therefore, they are hikaris 'the lights'). But in the anime, they come across certain objects that bring out a new persona (the yamis). Seems like they're the same person neh? But us fans think differently -^^-.
Because Yamis look a bit different and think on their own, we say they ARE different people. That they only reside in the hikari's minds, and may be able to take on their own physical form. Or...at least, that's what we think anyways. You can never be completely sure ^_~.
The Yamis are dark and mysterious. They're just so captivating! The anime doesn't explain TOO much about them, and it makes you scream for more information! Usually we see them, in the anime, as cold and heartless beings (with the execption on Yami Yuugi). I like them because they're so...angsty, not to mention cute -^0^-!
