Where the Moss Doesn't Grow

Where the campers trod
The moss doesn't grow
By Slickrock Creek
That noisily flows

How many hikers
Have set foot here
Where moss doesn't grow
Anytime during the year

The campers are enough
To keep moss trod back
While rinsing a dish
Or filling a water sack

I share path by creek
This wilderness ambiance
With another human being
That trod here once

Him I don't know
But his love does speak
Where the moss doesn't grow
Beside Slickrock Creek
